We aren’t the kind of program that can go hire a game changing coach.

We can end up with one on accident like we did with Pinkel. But not on purpose.

So we will putz along with wiBO and pretend it doesn’t matter that we’re going to sign 1 out of the top 10 Missouri High school players and that he can’t get his team to show up for a bowl game or the start of the season or that coaches may or may not like working for him and that he seems to be kind of a dick and that he invoked a dead player in the Rant.

We went to a bowl. Yay.

There's so much truth in this post it's scary.

Something nobody has brought up is that Mizzou fans want to make sure that he stabilizes his staff. We understand staff turnover but the way that Elarbee and Heupel left along with the playbookgate with Kuligowski, we need to see that BO has a staff that respects him.

If he doesn't get this OC hire right, he might be gone next year.

Maybe not but you guys still have SEC money and it shouldn't prevent you from getting a quality mid major
HC or a top tier P5 coordinator.

Does Heupel come home if he's a success at UCF and BO
craps out?

I'd say very much still TBD...with reasons to be optimistic and pessimistic.

First season wasn't good, but was left with a dumpster fire of a situation. Second season started so horribly, but had a good turnaround. Can't put the results of the bowl game in his hands when half the offensive staff leave.

For the price, he's been fine so far. Agree with previous assessments that we won't be snagging home run hires with $$$.

I think next year will be very telling. Where does he take the offense, or where does he allow people to take the offense rather? He will be very involved on Defense.

He only has a year or two before its either him or Muschamp on the chopping block.

Kirby and Georgia are rollilng. Mullen will have Florida back in a year or so. Vandy is vandy. Kentucky is Kentucky. Tennessee is a wildcard at this point.

So for me, I see it as a potential solidification or bust attempt at being the 3rd-best team in the east.

Since 2000, and really always, we have been a team that has to find the diamonds in the rough, even in our own state. Pick out some overlooked studs from Texas, Illinois, kansas...and develop them. This results in a cyclical nature where we have a really solid year with a group of seniors, trend down, and start over again.

Time will tell if BO can do that. Mixed bag so far.

Texas was without several players, so that excuse goes way out the window.

Ehhh not defending Barry but Texas’ backups were probably mostly higher ranked recruits than our starters.

We need a charismatic young coach that can really recruit.
Yeah, I know, everyone does. I'd break the bank for Lane Kiffin, but why would he leave south Fl for Columbia where its currently hovering around 10f ?
