From a pure passing perspective, I think he’s an overrated QB. He improvises better than any Bama QB in the past I think but I’d prefer Mac Jones, Tua, or even McCarron as a passer. Does he just have inferior play callers compared to those guys? Thoughts?

Great deep ball, knows when to run, is ironically better at avoiding the sack than our other qbs

Doesn't have the quick release of Tua and lacks the size of Jalen. He's closest to Mac in skill set. He reads the defense stupid fast and gets the ball where it needs to go. What more do you need?

You are a moron. Overrated? He had 47 TDs and 7 ints last year while passing for 4800 yards

Each had superior offensive line and receivers. That Bryce has done so well clearly speaks to his talent.

I think he's probably the best we've had overall, but hasn't had the weapons like Mac and Tua or the OC.

Jamo and Metchie were great for him last year, but they weren't vast combo of Ruggs, Devonta, Judy, waddle, Najee, etc.

And Bob is definitely no Sark or Kiffin

Eta: and the o-line sucked last year as others are mentioning. Better this year.

Was it Young or the receivers?

I think he is every bit as good as those guys but is in a worse situation. Specifically last year, Jameson Williams was the only skill position guy that would have arguably started on the 2018 and 2019 teams. Not to mention the O-Line was probably the worst of the Saban era

Depending on how you feel about Jameson versus Waddle, 2021 and 2022 are our worst receiving groups since 2017

Young has a better completion percentage and QBR this year than he did last year. You think he has better receivers than last year?

Or is he just dumping more to the running backs and tight ends?
I've been told Jamyr Gibbs is a Heisman finalist.

In 2021, 74% of completions were to WRs.
This year, there are more checkdowns to RBs and TEs. 62% of completions are to WRs.

It sounds like it is less about Young and more about the targets.

Imagine any of those qbs playing behind Youngs OL.
Young would flourish behind any of theirs.

Or maybe he is throwing to the guy he trusts to run the routes correctly. That would be the first time in history of QBing that happened right?... throwing to the guy you know you can count on.

No it was Williams.
No it was Bryce.
No it was Gibbs.
