He moved up to avoid the piss poor OL protections. He would then take off and run the ball for positive yardage. Most QBs would have been sacked 9 out of 10 times. Why do you think Saban stuck with him so long ? Loyality ?

Nah. The guy is right. Some Alabama fans blamed everybody but Hurts. They blamed the OC, blamed the offensive line, even blamed the receivers. Strangely enough, all those players and coaces seemed to get much better when Tua came in the game.

Don't you love how people distort facts when it doesn't fit their agenda. Hurts has thrown 40 TD pass and only 10 INTs with a 60%+ completions rate and almost 5000 yards. Now the Bama fans want to run him off.

In 4 playoff games he averaged under 100 ypg passing and threw 3 touchdown passes. This with a 1st round reciever, a 3rd round reciever, a 1st round tight end, several runningbacks that have or will get drafted, and a good offensive line. The dude blows

Completions to rush attempts last season was an exact 1:1 ratio. Just turrible.

Do you not take into account the change in OC? I think Kiffin utilized him better. Doesn't mean he's a shitty QB.

Did you watch Tua ? He was running for his life also. It forced a few bad passes that UGAs secondary couldn't take advantage of. Like I said, Bama's coaches called for slants and bubble screens to give Tua the time to pass. Tuo had to adjust his dropback a couple of yards to slow the rush down. Bama's OL looked good against the weak sisters of the SEC, but against good Ds they struggled.

I respectfully disagree. When Tua came in during any game the second and third receiver all of a sudden got open and caught passes. You guys really don't understand how bad he held Calvin back even though he was his only read most of the season. He cost ridley lot of money and he cost us a national championship in 2016. You can have him after he transfers in a few weeks.

Even in our spring game he would drop back and get confused or take off. He isn't even the second best quarterback on our team.

Regardless, Tua would've beat out any other quarterback this fall so it is a moot point anyway. Tua was gonna win the job even if Hurts was as good as you think he is. I feel sorry for the rest of the conference. A Saban team and defense with a Watson or Mariotta type at quarterback isn't really fair to the rest of you guys.

Tua completed 6 passes that were not slants or screens. Three were TDs (OT pass, 4th down pass into triple coverage, pass in the back of endzone). The difference between him and Hurts was when stepped up in the pocket, he wouldn't take off.

He’s a mediocre passer. Even under Kiffin he struggled in the passing game.

The test ride was just a drive in the parking lot. Do not trade in the truck based on the short little drive.

Tua played quite a lot last year and played well nearly every time. There were several instances when he came in and the offense immediately played better. Same offensive players and same defensive players.

He threw a touchdown every 7 pass attempts and his qb rating was better than Jalen Hurts and Jarrett Stidham LINK

I can, though, understand why Auburn fans or most any other rival fan would prefer we play Hurts instead.

No doubt, but Kiffin could highlight his strengths and all - and showed it through most of the season. Daboll just did not know how to maximize the production out of the offense with Hurts. I don't understand the people that want Hurts to transfer, that qb room could start getting really small really fast. Not sure how having a proven qb transfer off the roster is a good thing.
