I died of dysentery on the way. That is an Oregon Trail type trip. Dickson Street was pretty nice though.

Haven't been to those games yet but I will report back when I do. While scenic at times especially north of LR, I thought I would never get there.

Just be thankful you didn't go to War Damaged Stadium in Little Rock.

That's because Fayetteville is only 20 miles from Okla-frickin-homa. It's just barely in Arkansas. Hell, it's only 70 miles from Kansas.

It's a very long trip. Why was Arkansas in the SWC and not the Big 8 with how close the Arkansas is to the Big 8 campuses.

I would ask the Arkansas board, but they are one of the few holdouts.

it's because they never should have left the SWC.

Wouldn't the closest SWC school be like SMU? There certainly isn't a direct road to Dallas from Fayetteville.

I have no clue how Arkansas and other SWC members traveled nor do I know why Arkansas ended up being the only non Texas SWC team.

Which again makes me question why they weren't a Big 8 team

The zig zag inteerstate system doesn’t help either when you’re coming from the south going up to Fayetteville

As an OU fan, Dickson Street blows away anything on our Campus Corner. It’s improved greatly for the better but the Dickson Street experience can’t be beat. Baker Mayfield approves as well.

It's not, really. This another myth. Arkansas is 4 hours from Norman, and OU is one of the closer Big-12 schools. Arkansas' fanbase is too Southern in a cultural sense for the Big-12. Go to an Arkansas game in the Liberty Bowl playing a Big-12 team. Arkansas-Kansas State was the most recent. It felt like Ole Miss playing Iowa.

Like Lou Holtz said -

"Fayetteville isn't the end of the world, but you can see it from there"

Fayetteville is the last city in the South. Everything West and North is in the Midwest.

The Oklahoma schools, like Arkansas, were charter members of the SWC, but they left (OU in 1919; OSU in 1925). Not sure why they left and Arkansas stayed, but that's the way it went down.
