Heck, if the Vols win today, I'd argue that their first three games will have been against progressively easier opponents.

Actually Tennessee matches up great against Duke. They have no interior defense. Stokes and Maymon would eat them alive.

I thought we match up well against both teams. Our man D on Duke would have been fun to watch IMO. What wouldn't have been fun to watch is us playing Duke in Raleigh with an almost home court advantage for them. Missing them period is big, missing them in Raleigh is even bigger.

Would it be irony for UT to win today, then lose to Mercer? That way, Mercer would be the team to knock them out of the NIT in '13, and the NCAA in '14.

UT, with their size inside, would've been a tough matchup for Duke... and mercer beat up the vols last year in knoxville.... i'm not so sure it got easier.
