You guys lost 2 this weekend or only 1? I really thought you would pull off that TCU game. TCU is legit.

A&M played 33 innings this past weekend. We trailed at the end of the 15th and the end of the 9th after surrendering 5 runs each 9th inning.

We finished 1-2 on the wekeend

Ole Miss had a rough week. It's to be expected when you are starting 5 freshman though. Hopefully we regroup and get some confidence before Vandy in 2 weeks

LSU didn't have a rough week because the young guys struggled. LSU lost Friday because their ace got shelled. LSU lost Sunday because Mainieri doesn't know how to manage a bullpen. Regardless, this is LSU's most experienced lineup in years

I think that Friday correlates to Sunday though....We used our best setup options on Friday and Saturday. Although, I'll say this I'm not sure that inserting Peterson there was the right move with a slight 2-0 lead. I guess Maineri wanted to see just exactly what we have it Peterson. I see the difficulty with going straight to Newman there though....so outside of Peterson and Newman who would you have put in that inning....knowing that Bain, Reynolds, and Gilbert were basically not available. I'd have shite a brick if Strall were strolled out in that situation.

Newman hadn't pitched all weekend. I think he could have gone 3 innings, which he basically did anyways. Mainieri, at worst shouldn't have waited to pull the trigger. After Peterson walked the first two batters of the inning, he should have made the switch. Instead, he waited until we'd given up the lead

I'd never put my closer in for a 3 inning outing in March....not in college or pro....I mean you think the Yankees would have thrown Rivera for 3 innings vs the Red Sox in May...hell no.

Meh Peterson is a young guy....I think we wanted to see if he could pitch himself out of that situation. The fact that we went 1-2 this weekend doesn't hurt us that much (I mean hell the polls that are out so far only dropped us to 6).

My concern here is Newman....he has got to be better at closing the door when he comes in. Hitting the lead of batter in the 9th was an egregious error.
