We shouldn’t let Sankey make decisions…

Do you trust him to fairly punish your team solely?
Can we trust him to write a rule that survives its first day in court or accurately amend rules in a changing landscape?
Do you trust him to help negotiate a deal for the betterment of the SEC?
Do you trust him to litigate or press legal matters?
Do you trust him to hire the smartest people to help the SEC?
His contract expires in 2028. The SEC and it’s schools shouldn’t renew. There is someone better out there that can and will run this conference.

It is wildly hilarious how you guys are framing this.
Sankey got LSU to do what the conference wanted.
The only disappointment is not pushing for the hearing today.
That was a flub.
The SEC needs to go for broke. Either it will survive legal scrutiny or it won’t.

Sankey didn’t do it. It was the collection of members that did it.
He has failed on several huge measures imo. 3 Billion is nothing considering some brands are worth 700Million to a billion. Maybe I am overestimating it, but imo I think he’s been moot at best.

I genuinely don't think Sankey is Goodell, but that's clearly the model if he succeeds.
He rabble roused and at least presented the theoretical alignment of enough powerful institutions to threaten one of the other major institutions all while exposing himself to public disdain. That is the Goodell model entirely.

If LSU starts loving Sankey that would probably have a better outcome for the other schools to start not liking him. If LSU hates Sankey and shows it, then the other schools will want to keep him.
Nothing I have seen from LSU tells me they can play this game properly.

He should've been removed 10 years ago. Anyone who defends this guy clearly does not know the whiffs he's done for the SEC in his tenure. All he has done is make the SEC worse and now it's second behind B10 under his leadership no less.

My position on this is neutral (on Sankey). I'm not saying he's the guy. I'm saying that the SEC felt like it could not just let this fade into gray while Lane talked shite at halftime without a more definitive conclusion. Right call? Don't know. But it was a bold play for Sankey and I won't be surprised if member presidents are viewing him a little loftier in the aftermath. Just how it is.

The legal problems still haven’t been solved.
The SEC and member schools have decided to make the determination that they will not take certain players they deem ineligible, even if courts deem the eligible.
There will be lawsuits.
The SEC simply needs to gain the power to enforce its own rules.
That becomes complicated with recruiting if other conferences do not abide by those rules, and becomes very complicated if all of the conferences agree to the rules together, which would then put them back into the monopoly territory that the NCAA was in.
This shite is a convoluted mess because people couldn’t simply accept that what we had was a good thing and had to kick over the apple cart.
