We should have 6 teams comfortably in, possibly 8 make it imo.

Would be huge for the conference.

Already in : Tennessee, Kentucky

In barring huge collapse : Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, State

Bubble trending up: Alabama, Florida

Long shot: South Carolina, Mizzou

Arky could make it, but I don’t see it with how hot some of the other SEC teams are. They need to go on a South Carolina like run to do it.

Agreed, but its only predictions based on how teams are playing at the beginning of conference play.

I think 1 of those "barring huge collapse" teams misses (please don't be Auburn ) and one of the trending up teams does make it, giving us 6.

I know, I am not bagging on the thread, it is just the fact that we are no where near a time that any team should feel like they have made it in or are locked out. This stuff is for late February and he does it all year long now. It's like looking at playoff matchups in the NBA right now. What's the point?

If I had to choose 1 right now, I would say Ole Miss. This is simply due to the fact that Kermit doesn't have depth on the squad right now. A season ending injury to anyone could cause a collapse. If they can get Shuler back and keep everyone healthy, they'll probably be ok.

Arkansas has a much better shot than Mizzou imo.

And barring a turn around for the ages we don't have much of a shot.

It goes to show that coaching and getting top in state talent rules the roost in college basketball. Arkansas and Missouri both produce a good amount of D1 talent but key misses or injuries have derailed both teams.

Yeah, I think the first 8 teams you mention would likely all be in right now so the league's in a g=good place to get 7-8 bids.

Problem getting to 8 will mainly be South Carolina continuing it's strong league showing but not doing enough to overcome the OOC loses as well as Mizzou, Arky or Vandy going on a tear and knocking out some bubble teams.
