Both make sense, but I like Option 1 better for Thanksgiving purposes.. LSU vs OU
If LSU gets OU and aggy they should just leave for the Big Ten at this point.
I’m with OP. LSU’s permanents should be Ole Miss, Florida, and Alabama.

Y’all had LSU & Auburn, we had Auburn and Ole Miss
I think that the Florida Auburn game should come back, don’t most Gators? it’s the closest school to your campus…

Hell fricking no. If I were the AD at UF, I would leave the conference if we don't end up with 3 rivals as our 3 permanents. Big 10, Big 12, whatcha got, we are listening. Time to lawyer up.
Florida vs Georgia, TN, KY
What’s wrong with those 3?

Why not play 3 rivals instead of 2 when you have 4?

It will be interesting to see what they do by Dec. About the only thing FL knows for sure is we will get GA and one of our other 2 opponents is pretty likely to be either KY or SC. TN and then LSU would be my choice for the other opponent.

I wouldn't argue, I wouldn't bitch, I would just look to leave. If we are in a conference and can't play our rivals in the conference, what is the point of being in the conference? It's insane.
Auburn is our oldest rival and the closest school in the SEC to Florida, yet over the last 23 seasons we have played them 2 times in Auburn. On the flip side we are heading to play at Texas A&M for the 4th time in 9 years this season.
So I don't trust them to schedule correctly therefore I want all 3 permanent games to be rivals.

I get that argument, but you have played KY 3rd most..
Georgia, Auburn, Kentucky
The problem with that is Auburn’s schedule.. while the Auburn fans may want AL, GA & FL as permanents, I’m guessing they won’t do that to them.. I’m not against it.. but damn..
You have to remember thaf each choice flows downhill.
But let’s roll with it. Fill in the blanks for A, B and C
AL - AUB + TN + LSU
AUB - AL + GA + FL
GA - FL + AUB + [ A ]
FL - GA + LSU + AUB
TN - V + AL + [ B ]
LSU - [ C ] + FL + AL
TX - OU + A&M +
OU - TX +
A&M -
V - TN +

This argument is moot. We had played Auburn more than anyone, even Georgia and they split us up in the first SEC expansion. Kentucky is not a rival.

A- SC
B - Kentucky
c - Ole Miss

And I know Georgia is sitting there going, FL, AU, and SC?? Hell yeah!

Just look at South Carolina's schedule this seaosn. They are playing an ACC + Big 12 schedule. No Georgia, Florida or Tennessee.

Sept. 13: vs. Vanderbilt
Sept. 20: at Missouri
Sept. 27: vs. Kentucky
Oct. 4: Idle

Georgia is a given and the other two need to come from Auburn, LSU and Tennessee. I don't want Kentucky or Carolina. Nothing against them, but they are not rivals.
Florida vs Georgia and LSU while restoring the Auburn series ???
there is a way - but Bama & LSU will reeeeeeeeeee about it -
eta - as for Carolina - I think a large majority of our fans would be fine with playing Kentucky and Missouri every year as long as Georgia rounds out the 3 -

Pretty good result.. just need to tweak it to fix Mizzou and State

AL - AUB + TN + LSU

KY - MS + V + TN
MS - KY + OM + OU

MIZ - SC + OU + ARK
SC - MiZ + A&M + GA
another variation.. State is the one that gets hosed either way, but there isn’t a great option for with the SEC W and KY already off the table
maybe moving State to A&M.. I’ll have to play with it, but it could work.. I think most teams would be happy with this setup

I get that argument.. so they are like Baylor to us..

I see what you are saying but they only consider GA I guess as a must have. When we lost Auburn was it because Auburn said they shouldn't have to play us and GA on top of their west schedule?
Edit: forgot it was a 1 -1 deal so Auburn was going to get GA for sure.

Right. Auburn has a bigger rivalry with Georgia than Florida, so their hands were tied, it is understandable, and we got LSU who was becoming a rival and we had been playing since the 1950's, so it wasn't that we got a bad one with LSU, just hated losing Auburn who was a bigger rival at the time.
It worked out perfectly for Georgia and Bama since they got to keep their main 2 rivals, but UF lost it's #2 rival and Auburn lost it's #3 and probably #4 rivals with UF and UT.
