It’s interesting to see how different people rank them. Obviously Alabama is number one. 2 and three are changeable based on the criteria you use.

Whats crazy to me is (and again talking All-time) is that weve been so bad for a while now. And the rest of the big 6 has seen some pretty good success over the past 20 years. Yet we sill have a legit claim to #2/#3 all time in the SEC.

However if we don't turn this around soon, thats not going to last much longer

You are probably right. Tennessee needs to ramp it up or they will fall in rankings like this. Historically they have been great

Two, seriously?

Yes.

Are you claiming 1942 from which UGA was crowned as champion retrospectively and from the irrelevant listed below?

Berryman, Billingsley, DeVold, Houlgate, Litkenhous, Poling, Sagarin, Sagarin (ELO-Chess), Williamson

If so, I'm embarrassed for you.

Yet you want to go by the AP Poll which crowned their champion weeks before the Bowl games were played? Georgia played in the Rose Bowl against #13 UCLA while Ohio State chose not to play in a Bowl game. So, yes. We claim it and the NCAA recognizes it.

ETA
However, to answer the OP's question, there is no Big 3. Alabama is farther ahead of everybody else than the other 5 are to each other. You have Alabama and the rest are close. You can make arguements all you want, but the other 5 are close. Yes, I would give LSU the edge over the others for #2, but they are still closer to #3-6 than they are to Alabama.

Nobody is close to Alabama as they are on a plain by themselves. I agree with you, I’d put LSU at number 2 due to 3 recent national championships. You could make a valid argument for almost anybody at 3 as all have had some kind of success. Personally I’d give it to UF with their 3 recent national titles. But they have little history prior to Spurrier.

Absolutely. LSU has something special going on right now, and I think if Orgeron can keep it going he could finally get the respect he deserves.

Florida is a hard one to pin down. They had a 20 year period where they were off the chain good, but other than that very little. Georgia has been good consistently, but unable to get to the top.
Tennessee was consistently good for a long time, but has been pretty bad the last 20 years, and Auburn has a great years followed by really bad years.

3-6 could go to just about any of the other four teams outside of Alabama and LSU. It would be hard to argue for any of the four or against them.

I guess if we are talking all-time, then yes, I will go UF

All-time? the Gators didn't win their 1st SEC title until Spurrier became their coach. UGA is 2nd all-time in SEC titles, and they have close to 100 victories more than the Gators. UGA also leads the head to head series.

Damn those pesky facts. Florida didn't start keeping records in football until 1990.

All time would still be Bama, UT, and LSU.

Last 30 years would be Florida, Bama and LSU.

Last 10 years would be Bama, Auburn, LSU.

Dude, bowl games used to be vacations - basically exhibition games. Once there were several, a stretch from the 40s to the 60s basically treated them like a reward for the players.

Lol what has Georgia done since 2000 that makes you put them above Florida? Even Auburn?

They pretty much are now, too, so what's your point?

Georgia played in a bowl game against another ranked team, and Ohio State chose to stay at home.

Congratulations?

Not sure where you found that, but...if you don't mind, what was Georgia?

(If you have a link to the information, would you mind sharing?)
