It was never about who deserves to get in and all about attracting the eyeballs. FSU was not gonna be competitive without its starting QB and ESPN didn't want another lopsided semifinal, which would've hurt their TV ratings, so they lobbied the committee to leave the Seminoles out.

There is no playoff in college football. It's a crooked system that's masquerading as playoff.

So ESPN controls the selection committee? Who knew?

So they replaced a team that wasn't going to be competitive with one that was?

It almost sounds like they picked the better team to fill that spot.

College football is just pro wrestling in a 22 man cage match on a rectangular field. Thank God the committee isn’t involved with March Madness.

Money controls the selection committee and espn has plenty. Follow the money. It’s not that hard. Oh, a bama fan, never mind

You can thank unbalanced conferences and schedules for this. They need to make every P5 team play two P5 teams OOC. We would have a better understanding of who the best conferences are and be able to make more educated decisions.

It was so silly how Rece, Herbstreit, and Greg acted like they didn’t already know the selections then were doing their sales pitches to try and ease things over for the committee.

Definitely was WWE like

They never said it was. It was always about putting the four best teams in. That is what they said from day one. You admit that without Jordan Travis that FSU is not one of the four best teams. So why so mad?

What does ESPN have to do with it?

I copied this over from another post:

All of you are idiots.

Every single college sport including Division II football plays a playoff or tournament.

We’ve been led to believe that Div. I football cannot handle a playoff. We are all wrong.

It comes down to old white men protecting their interest with bowl game money and tie ins. That is as simple as it gets.

The FSU decision was based on money and TV ratings. Nothing more. Once again old white men and their money.

I’m sorry but it’s time to call bull shite. Do I think we need a 32 team bracket like Div II? No.

But a 16 team playoff would be fantastic. 8 is perfect but more teams brings better ratings and more opportunities.

I feel sorry for FSU because at its core, this decision kills the spirit of the game.

In 3 years players will be employees of the University with healthcare and protection. A roster will cost $50MM or more.

At this point the top 30 or so colleges who can afford it will break off and start a semi-pro league. The dominoes are falling and this is where we are headed.

I hope your team has money.

it's aggie logic. Just make that assumption with all these kinds of posts from them.
They truly believe this stuff. texas and bama control the media, pay off the refs, pay off the selection committee...it's some juicy tin foil hat stuff...funny as hell.

Yeah, Alabama’s blowout home loss to Texas and scraping by a dogshit 6-6 USF really screams dominant.

No shite? They take money and ratings into account?

Does the poster have a race issue? Are non-white men not allowed to be in the sports and entertainment business?

Leading in the fourth quarter and losing by ten points is now a "blowout"?

You know what screams dominant? Knocking off the two time national champion who is ranked #1 with an undefeated regular season.

One thing that history has taught us is that in order to enact change, you have to show old white mean where it will impact their wallets.

Then why aren't the best 4 teams in, still?

10 point loss at home to Texas as they mercy kneel on your 30 is indeed a blowout. But losses don’t matter to Alabama apparently. Potential losses matter to FSU though.
