I said that Alabama claims the 1941 title that was awarded by Houlgate in addition to the 13 that are recognized by CFDW. At no time did I say that I considered that to be bullshite but rather stated that if you or someone else doesn't agree that you should probably provide an explanation.

ftr, 1941 is a bullshite title since y'all were 9-2 and lost to Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. How anyone could lose to those teams and claim a national title is beyond hilarious.

Well you see if you put something into quotes it implies that you are actually quoting something. What you are doing is attempting to paraphrase what I said. So let me paraphrase what you said but I'll do you the courtesy of leaving the bullshite quotes off.

Here's the thing...if a football playoff were somehow instituted next season, and its wildly successful and popular and in 30 years the championships won under it are the gold standard for "REAL" championships, does that mean that the ones won under the BCS or the older ones awarded by the AP are fake? No.

Bama went through a period where they recognized their poll titles as the end all and beat all of "real" championships. Some guy in the Athletic Department with a thing for history (Like our own LSU poster, I-59) lobbied for them to start recognizing the Championships from the pre-poll, pre-Bryant era. This was during the period where the Bryant Museum was being founded, which showcased the full history of Alabama football.

Its not that the titles weren't real, or that we fabricated them from whole cloth (as some actually believe), its that we didn't recognize them for a long time.
