Of course with a pre-season poll, production in prior years is the primary factor.

You aren't gonna do the research for your own Top 5?

Sure I am. This is one part of that research. Your voice can be heard and considered by the voters. You are welcome.

I just can't bring myself to rank two players coming off of significant injuries as 1 and 2

I hear ya, and it won't really be known till they make game day cuts and take game day hits. For now I'll just assume they are 100% but yeah, you have a good point.

We'll consider those three after week six provided that they've actually produced.

Marcus Lattimore- 818 yards in 7 games
Knile Davis- no yards last year, DNP
Zac Stacy- 1193 yards in 13 games
Christine Michael- 899 yards in 10 games
Eddie Lacy- 674 yards
In terms of production, I agree with these 5. The reason why anyone would short LSU of a RB on the list is simply because of the division of labor.

In 2011 as the primary offense for USC...Lattimore rushed for under 5 ypc against all foes except for UGA and Navy...Other games included MSU, Kentucky, Auburn, Vandy and East Carolina..He did have 246 yards against Navy, which is impressive but on 37 carries.

He did break the 100 yard barrier 4 times in 2010, which included a 200 yd game against UF but got that on 40 carries. Impressive game against UGA...again a 37 carry performance.

I'll break down Davis later, but had as many 100+ yard games in 2010 as Latt in 2010/2011

1) Mocha Cam
2) Braysus (Will probably break the record for most passing yards by a RB)
3) TJ Yeldon (Blatant Homerism)
4) Chuck Yeager (Dude can FLY)
5) Knile Davis

I'd put Mett on here, but I just don't think he's done enough to prove himself capable of being an effective RB yet.

ETA: I think is a dumb topic, and would very much like to skip the next couple weeks and get to Vandy vs USCe already
