Was Mizzou brought to the SEC to elevate the East, and SEC overall?

Since joining the East Mizzou has brought national recognition to the SEC by dominating the East in football when people said we didn't have the resources to compete. We now have three Sweet Sixteen teams in Basketball, and more teams qualifying for the NCAA/NIT. The Mizzou basketball name helped even in the worst time in program history, we got the SEC to realize basketball can become a huge revenue generator for the SEC. Now our baseball team is dominating the East/SEC producing another potential CY young winner in Tanner Houck. The SEC is extremely lucky to have Mizzou, and looks to always be ahead of the competition by adding a premier Athletic program like Mizzou.

Missouri is the East's only hope. Sorry about the pressure, but when the east sucks it is Mizzou's fault.

That was one of the many benefits to consider when adding a quality athletics program like Mizzou

Is this fricking MizzouRant or SECRant. We can't let these frickers overtake this board.

Basketball. If Mizzou gets back to being a top 25 program the SEC gets another big hitter other than Kentucky.

I don't know how else to break this to you, but I'll do so gently for you to understand. South Carolina is full of a bunch of bandwagon fans who only come out of the woodworks to support their teams when they're having success. Mizzou had 13,000 people show up to watch a game and are an 8-24 basketball team this year, we support our programs through thick and thin. South Carolina fans can't even show up to watch a winning program. Pathetic, sad, very sad indeed.

Mizzou and A&M were brought into the SEC for one reason only: they added huge media markets and huge cable markets to our footprint. It was 100% a money decision.

Not gonna lie, the last few years, we have been lacking in offseason titles...but this might be the year. Tennessee's remarkably lacking in offseason material..and Mizzou is peaking at the right time. I think we have a chance at this years offseason title!

They were supposed to bolster the conference in basketball.

We did too well in football too soon so we tanked football and basketball to not make the old guard too scared of our true power
