Tough to really throw the bank at a guy that old with only 2 years of P4 experience.

The tough part is he just signed an 8 year that basically pays him $9 mil per and he's already 64.

That's really old and expensive for a guy in only year 2 at the P4 level.

Stoops gave LR a playoff team. LR devolved the team year by year.

He cancelled the USC/Ole Miss series for this and next year because of the same reason he left Ok,anima. He didn’t want to get his arse beat by an SEC team. He is a con artist.

This right there. LR teams got worse every single year he was at OU. And his defense was ranked in the 100's by the time he left.

Riley. And I like Kelly. He has the old-school, hard-arse approach, which is sorry missing these days.

Why Riley?

I believe he would have built the team around Jayden Daniels better - just like he did with Kyler, Jalen and Baker.

I know, one could argue, those OU teams wouldn't have done as well in the SEC.

But that season was wasted by Kelly -- like he was caught off-guard.

LR is the better hire, if you like gay head coaches that can't win anything with NFL caliber QBs and cooks brisket like an a-hole.

I agree. He was a decent hire at the time.

And seriously, I think all coaches are struggling more than they would have been had NIL not been added into the mix.

I think Kirby is far and away the best HC in the game right now but his teams are not dominating anymore. No one's are.

Lincoln Riley is 1-0 against Brian Kelly.

He is also much younger. Gotta be Riley.

Interestingly Riley is 1-2 against Marcus Freeman.
