Was just comparing Jayden Daniels' stats with Manziel in 2012

Looks like Daniels will have much better passing numbers, but probably 20 YPG less rushing. JFF was kind a freak there, though, and his markedly better passing numbers should more than outweigh that. He does have more tackles, though, so there's that.

I was honestly not aware just how good his numbers are. Not something I am tracking.

That being said, I can see why Tiger fans are making his Heisman case, especially with Penix having basically no run game.

One big problem, though, is that there have only been 3 winners in the award's history that came from teams with 4 or more regular season losses.

One will be an NFL talent.
One will own some shady bar “near” Aggie campus.

Last time I checked we had 3.

I hope you’re not assuming yall beat us in Tiger Stadium.

Also Heisman is best player. Not best player on the best team.

The 3 that have won with 3 or more loses have all come since 2000.

Who is going to give us that 4th loss? Heisman is before the bowl game so…

I don’t really give a frick how players do in the NFL. The NFL fricking sucks. It’s sucked for years. If they make it, great. If not, I don’t care.

Rushing is only less because Daniels has fewer attempts, Manziel averaged 7.0 YPC while Daniels is at 8.1 YPC.

The only argument to be made for Nix/Penix is that they should win the Heisman simply because their teams have better defenses, which shows how dumb Heisman voters are.

Is it weird that I’m not sure which one you are referring to? Because I have no idea. I don’t think either of them are 1st round picks

Johnny was also 19, a 3 star, on a team of 3 stars. But the JD guys refuse to consider than.

And it was obvious every time he played LSU.

It’s all about the setup. ;)

Honestly, it always kinda floors me that people blow right past these things to actually debate the premise.

Yeah, they might have re-ranked, but he was off the radar bc he never played football until his junior year in High School. He was a basketball guy up until then. Crazy how he was so good in college.
