Imo this is 2 years in a row that LSU can arguably claim they had the best Freshmen. Stingley now Ricks. Just incredible if you ask me.

According to PFF he is the highest graded Freshman defender in the SEC (3rd overall)
At 82.2 rating. If he had played more games. He potentially could have been 1st overall.

And on top this he was rated the best in single Coverage in ALL of College Football At 89.1 even over Surtain.

4 ints last season with 2 TDS. I think this is valid.

With the talent on the defense no reason we should have been as horrible as we were.

No he wasn't. He was #3.

#1 - Myles Murphy (Clemson) (85.2)
#2 - Brandon Joseph (Nwestern) (83.4)
#3 - Eli Ricks (LSU) (82.8)
#4 - Evan Anderson (FAU) (81.8)
#5 - Malachi Moore (Bama) (79.6)
#6 - Will Anderson (Bama) (79.1)

PFF disagrees with you.
Ricks overall grade 82.2 (1st)

Moore 79.6 (4th best)

Ricks 4 ints 2 TDs
Moore 3 ints 0 TDs

He wasn't 1st. That's not true.

Where do you get these? Make them up?

Here the Link from PFF themselves.

So we gonna punish Ricks for not being able to play more games?

We gonna use the actual season ending stats you claim to be using.

LSU fans

Someone needs to explain the concept of averages to them.

The stats account for an entire season. It's not punishing anyone. His full body of work was great but wasn't as good as two others' (according to PFF).

Your argument is akin to suggesting that the LSU/Bama game was close last year and citing the 1st quarter score as support.

I’m arguing best Freshmen. So my point still is valid. I will change it to make sure everyone is aware tho.

It's not even like Ricks fell from #1 to #28 or something. Could easily edit and note that he was had the top grade of SEC freshmen.

Some people just can't help themselves, though.

Myles Murphy is a true freshman.

So, no, it isn't.

Myles Murphy is good but what Ricks has done would put him number 1 for me.

Saw my other stat about him being the highest rated Defender in Single Coverage in the entire NATION?
