You sound upset.

Good thing the WSJ doesn’t consider your opinions.

I don't praise much in California, but they way that state has been able to build world class schools both at the Flagship level but also at satellite campuses is impressive.

Cali is organized differently than Texas. The don't have a flagship and satellite system like Texas does. They have a tier one system (UC) and a tier 2 system (Cal State). The tier one schools are all what we in Texas would think of as "flagships" under a single UC system admin. The tier 2 schools are what we would think of as satellites, and are all under the Cal State system.

The Texas system, I think is past its usefullness. And ideally, I'd like to see the public university in Texas reorganized like Cali's. Put UT-Austin, A&M-CS, and UT-D in a tier one system along with some others TBD, and relegate the rest to a seperate tier two system of affordable regional univerities around the state.

But it will never happen because of football. So we'll continue to be a mess of competing sytems fighting each other for funding.

I agree that the current setup needs a real adjustment.

Sharp's approach to blowing out the College Station campus needs to die tomorrow. The state funding mechanisms need to most definitely be re-analyzed. Most partisan alums try to frame the discussions as us vs them but in reality both schools are just tax-payer owned assets and will do what they are told when they are told.

Actually, it gets tougher and tougher to get into every year. Thanks for demonstrating how ignorant you really are.

Texas A&M's entrance requirements have gotten increasingly more difficult over the last 20 years just like tu's have. You really should at least try to get your facts straight before posting and proving how stupid you really are.

Are... are people not supposed to comment on threads including their own teams? I'm confused.

It seems like y'all are kind of twisted up about your standing when compared to The University of Texas (hence a 9-page thread about it).

Sarge's multiplicity of replies being met by a slew of downvotes (akin of just about every other aggie's post on this thread including OP's) insinuates that the posters agree with me.

Sorry y'all are butthurt?

ETA: now a ten page thread. Wonder why that is...?

And that doesn't even account for the mouthbreathing dullards who get into A&M through Backdoor Blinn Junior College

This is rich. You know how I can tell you are a tshirt fan and not an actual graduate? You have no idea how admissions actually work at donghorn U.

Trying to make fun of A&M using Blinn as an alternative route of admission when the donghorns have the exact same system known is "CAPS" really makes you look stupid and uninformed.

The thread is about Texas A&M and how an objective third-party views the value of universities

But over half the posts in this thread are by UTrans fans melting over it

The insecure Fanbase is very obvious, YOUR insecurities are very obvious

Seems like half of the posts aren't even a fanbase, but you yourself, which are getting downvoted into oblivion

Says the guy referring to us as UTrans? Yea, you seem really secure.

The insecurity quote wasn't even from me, but a fan of another school, so what does that tell you?

Again, you personally have done nothing but bleed all over this thread, which is fitting for a UTrans fan I suppose

Oh bless your heart. Laughing at you is not the same as bleeding, which is quite ironic coming from you given your post history. Look how everyone else is replying to your posts on this thread. It should be embarrassing.

Are all aggies on this site on the spectrum like you and Buster83? Y'all post like children

Poor kid, keep telling everyone how much you don’t care, they will believe you eventually, UTrans is definitely preparing the cucks of this world for a bright future

The point is clear

This thread is 10 pages because UTrans fans like yourself are insecure about the WSJ rankings of your older, larger, big brother

Lol you yourself have posted in this thread more than anybody else. But you definitely seem secure in yourself by having to refer to texas as “UTrans”

The lack of self-awareness here is actually astounding

Have a good weekend, my guy

Yeah, the whole admissions rate thing is a farce. There a fairly large backdoors open to any state resident that is motivated and patient and able to clear fairly low academic bars.

There is still fairly large churn in freshman admits that is getting better with time but still betrays the fact that Top 7% or Top 10% admits are not created equal. In many cases they are far behind and much less capable than second quarter students at big city public or private schools.
