Bro we all know Kirby is cheating, but Auburn can't really credibly criticize it.

LOL.

For the sake of discussion - how much do you think Bama pays its players, who are 2nd & 3rd round draft grades, to return for their senior year?

ETA: The average “guaranteed” money for a 3rd round contract is right at a million dollars. Do you think Bama is outbidding the NFL?

250,000 to stay with the chance that the signing bonus for the NFL will be much higher the next year. The money adds up.

If they weren’t getting anything they would be more tempted to go take that second round money because there is no guarantee they are going up.

An extra 250,000 to stay and take that chance of going much higher changes that scenario. And you know that.

Cheating occurs at every school to some degree or another.

That said, hanging a hat on anything that comes out of Probst mouth as even having an inkling of truth is foolish. The man is a snake oil salesman of the highest order. Dropping names and and trying to legitimize and build support to have on hand cash reserves available with the "this is how the big boys do it, don't you want to be a big boy," argument.

He is full of shite and hasn't been near the inside of the ongoings to top collegiate programs in years. Nor, will he ever be again after this.

Kirby’s bagmen are headed down 75 right now making sure that the Valdosta folk have some conveniently fuzzy memories.

None of the big 6 can. You do what it takes, or you get left behind.

So, just to be clear, players are walking away from $1,000,000 guaranteed as a 3rd round pick, or much more than that as a second round pick, for a chance to injure themselves and $250,000 guaranteed?

Is that right?

Yeah that’s right. How much is Devonta going to get now? They made the risk worth the chance with a lesser guarantee. Play dumb and add more laughing faces if you would like. It is exactly what is happening. I am not guessing about it.

Anybody with a half functioning brain - or anyone with quarter functioning brain who can read a spreadsheet - would make that decision for themselves.

“Here’s a draft board, here’s where you’re projected. Here’s a list of upperclassmen at your position and where you fit among them. Here’s the generational wealth you’ll earn by coming back.”

Numbers. Math. Common sense. Of course, you live in a state that elected JBE and Toya the Destroya, so I don’t have any expectation for you to understand any of those things.

Lists that go back 30+ years to name players that should have left early? WGAF?

There are probably 25 players from LSU’s roster alone in that time span that needed to come back for their senior year and opted not to, only to become late round draft picks or go completely undrafted.

On Alabama’s roster this year - there were at least 3 players that made themselves literal millions of dollars by coming back.

It’s an easy sell to anyone with a brain, especially since it happens every single year. Nobody is getting paid to make a common sense decision.

So you are going with Devonta didn’t get a single dollar to come back? Correct?

There aren’t enough laughing emojis for you.

Why would he? He wasn’t even the best receiver on his own team last year (or the first 4 games of this year). He had 5+ guys rated higher than him, and coming back immediately made him a top 3 WR on the board (but still only #2 on Bama’s roster). Nobody was paying that dude $250K to come back.
