What's zook doing now?

We let Zook go and he never had losing record and we beat LSU at red stick when they won NC with Saban...their only loss was to Zook. We went 8-5 when Zook was fired.
But Zook was in a MUCH better situation roster-wise when he took over at UF than Jones was when he took over here. Jones's deficiencies have been somewhat hidden because of how devastated the talent on the team was. Scheme wouldn't have made any difference, for example, when we took on Oregon in 2013 or OU in 2014. We were going to lose and not in a pretty way.

I'm pretty sure he's a special teams coach in the nfl now. I wanted LSU to find a spot for him on the staff to recruit, but there was even a whisper of adding him as DC.

Our WRs have to be the most underperforming unit in the country. 9 deep of guys who can play pretty well at this level. The constant rotating and terrible offense really limits them. I have no idea how we keep attracting these prototypical NFL receivers to come play in this offense. The Norths, Malones, Williams, etc. should get out of here as fast as possible.

We LSU fans have been anticipating for years the day LSU's offense prevents itself from signing top WR talent. I don't know what these coaches tell these kids, but chances are butch will somehow keep signing those caliber of guys

It really is a shame.

Volfan30 nailed it last year on Botch. The rest fell for the snake oil salesman.
To you Volfan30
To you Volfan30

He also cost UGA a national title shot!

Zook recruited well and left Meyer in good shape. Looks like Jones is doing the same for UT's next coach.

I just can't see giving up on BuJo just yet. It takes years to build a program in the SEC. He's got the talent. He has to have at least 2 more years.

What's lost in the hyperbole is the thin line the media uses in crucifying and resurrecting coaches/teams.
If Tennessee hung on and win regardless of the OU comeback it would be slobber slobber over Tennessee and big game bob blows another one.
OU comes back and wins barely and its BIG GAME BOB AND OU ARE BACK! Tennessee was overhyped, blah blah blah.
Same stuff every year by the sports media and fans regurgitate the slop.

I do agree with this.

He's with the Packers. Though I love the mental image of him running a bank, screaming at the tellers to hustle. Loan officers that gave bad loans doing laps around the building.
He must have gotten hooked up from am old UF buddy/booster, because it was a bank in Ocala.

Not many know about this but historically here in the SEC an L under ANY circumstances means that its time to fire the HC, unless his name is Spurrier or Saban. When Spurrier was at UF any loss was followed up on messgae boards that it was the DCs fault and time to get a new one....they didnt dare mention OC because the OC was Spurrier.
I remember when we finished 9th in country in total defense under Hoke and so called "fans" yelled all year for firing him. Spurrier actually got really pizzed at this in 2001 and it was part of the reason he left exit stage right. He said he created a monster at UF...and if we lost 1 game fans were upset.
Saban will get pass and of course the whipping boy will be Kiffin. Its a shame 95% of these idiots on message boards dont understand even the basics of football. The majority are snot nose kids that go to the games and dont really pay attention...they are too busy texting to b/f or g/f.

I'll be fair to Zook, he had a more broken roster than most people know. The last two recruiting classes by Spurrier were freaking pathetically bad. One was the worst UF class in any rankings by a large margin(average recruit ranking was under .80 on 247, a lot lower actually which is just freaking ridiculous). He had Grossman still, but Zook had a lot to bring in. He did great recruiting, six five stars his first year. He just struggled on game day and didn't develop well. Still, he wasn't given the keys to a ferrari. He was given a eclipse that looked like a Ferrari.

I thought Vol fans were fine with a 8-4 record this year.
It seems extreme to expect Butch to win in the swamp. For all his hype he does have Tennessee back on everyone's radar. My god he lost to Oklahoma, a big 12 blue blood. Florida is Big Six, anyone could lose to them.
Might be best to save this kind of talk for a different team. Florida did not get much media attention this off season but they are still dangerous to anyone.
This will be a fun game to watch just to see where both teams are in their rebuilding.

Pretty good comparison. Here's hoping the vols don't find their urban in the offseason.
