Son and I doing some college tours across Arkansas and Oklahoma during fall break, and we will be attending the KY OU game Saturday evening.

It will be our first trip for a game there. What are some highlights we should hit around campus?

Was planning to leave for campus about 1 pm (so we can watch the 1st half of the LSU game), but it looks like they are starting to close roads at that time. We are parking in the Parkview lot.

Thanks for any suggestions

Just joking OU fans.

There is a bar/restaurant district north of the campus, and another one in downtown Norman.

Downtown OKC is very nice, too.

I went to the LSU @ OU game last season. Fans were nice, tailgates were welcoming, and the stadium is easy to get into.

Not sure about the age of the son, but we found a pool hall close to the hotel the night before. Uber'd to the game. Got invited to a couple post-game tailgates by people we were sitting close to, then walked to some bars just up the road. Uber'd back to the hotel.

It seemed like a clean, safe area. Oklahoma fans should be pumped up the week after beating Texas. Have fun, and good luck!

I can’t speak to stuff specifically for Norman/OU, but I can give some Oklahoma tips:

Braum’s is an Oklahoma delicacy. Their stores are called “markets”, and they sell their self-produced ice cream, and they serve fast food and some groceries. All of their markets are within a three-ish hour radius of OKC.

Hideaway Pizza originated in Stillwater, but they have locations across OK, AR, and TX, including one in Norman.

The Boomerang Diner is a chain completely contained in OK.

Bricktown in OKC has a ton of stuff.

As you mentioned AR, David’s Burgers has locations in the central part of the state.

My reply earlier in the thread was not nearly as descriptive as in my thread from last year
I did post an additional update on that thread, tho!

Tell me about going to Norman
A lot of really good rec's from OU fans in the thread. I started it a year before the game we went to, with plenty of time to prepare, or so we thought. We got a blessing of a baby girl in between, which changed some of our plans. Even with those family life changes, we still had a blast!
