there is a company called Low Sierra that produces the vinyls for old squarebodies to get that vintage look. i believe they were involved in the restoration of the Jimmy in the background

re: Potential Move to Dubai?

lived there for about two years (2014 and 2015)

make sure your relocation includes a substantial housing allowance, or your company will pay for your housing - this is a must, housing is expensive there. check dubai.dubizzle.com for an idea - a 1 bedroom apt in the marina is about $23,000 a year in rent

consider your bills as well. electricity in dubai can be expensive. we lived in a small townhouse and electric bill in summer can be $500 easy.

you can get around with cabs/uber, but it adds up quick, so you'll need to buy a car or consider shipping yours over. dubizzle has a lot of used cars on there as well.

food and drink in general is more expensive. be ready to pay $10 for a pint of fosters (crappy beer) at most bars you go to.

emirates is a fantastic airline. you can get tons of direct flights to all over the world. living in dubai will afford you the opportunity to see a lot of the world.

most of the population is from india, pakistan, and filipinos, you'll probably interact very little with emiratis.

lots of brits, australians, south africans, and russians there. not many americans.

let me know if you want any other info.

Them

I wanted one, so i went out and bought one.
use it as a daily driver now. even tote the two small kids in the back, door opens enough and seat slides forward to where it is pretty easy to get them in and out of the car seats.

i had the nexus 6 and dropped it, shattered the screen. would have been $150 to get it fixed, or $200 for a new 5x, so i went with the 5x.
its a good phone. does slow down sometimes, but for the price, i couldnt pass it up. plus the fingerprint scanner was a huge upgrade over my old 6. i do miss the size of my 6 though.
curious to see the final prices on the pixel phones. may switch over to one of those in new year.
Rowan's Creek or Noah's Mill, if you can find it.

also, Kentucky Vintage is pretty good as well
fairly simple
action launcher (love the "make cover" feature and the ability to change the color of the search bar)

thats what i meant, ginger man. :banghead:
gingerbread man, rice village.
Jaybird X2

got some of these. they are super comfy, great sound, and stay put when moving around. if you are using them for exercise, they are sweatproof as well.

re: Are airliners getting too big?

emirates a380s are really nice to fly in, especially when you are stuck on one for 16 hours. the screen is nice (bigger than the 777 ones) and they have a ton of shows/movies. leg room is really good (probably an inch or two more than on a 777). i've flown on both the 777 and a380 on trans atlantic flights, and i prefer the a380s.

but i'd sure as hell take any emirates flight over any american airline carrier

as a side note, an emirates pilot i know says he prefers flying the 777, says they get way less mechanical / electrical issues than the a380s.

re: Does anyone like Windows 10?

i had to go back to win 8.1.
updated to 10 and kept getting a BSOD with Internal Power Error. tried everything i could find to fix it, but it was all temporary. as soon as i rebooted, the error would show up again.
going to wait until they push the november update then try again.
