Can't believe this is being downvoted.

I guess people on this board really do worship football players.
Doesn't Ruggs have a wife and kid as well?

Why even go to court? What, he's innocent?

This little thing called the Due Process Clause in our Constitution.

That people who say things like "he doesn't deserve a trial" make me sad.

Then go cry about it, bitch. We don't need your legal discourse about due process.

It's just really odd to argue against giving someone their constitutionally protected day in court. It's an open and shut case with the overwhelming evidence against him giving him no other option than to serve a long prison sentence. I don't see what your issue is with that.

The mass * speed of his car was much greater than the other car. On top of that, he didn't get pinned in a burning car, which is apparently what actually killed her. If not for that, she may have lived.
it looked like he was in a current year Corvette, and she was in a Toyota rav4. If I look up the weights of those vehicles they're roughly on par, the Corvette might be slightly heavier. As for the energy felt by both vehicles, the speed of his vehicle doesn't matter it's the mass of each vehicle. It gets divided between the two objects. So being of roughly equal weight they would have felt about the same force and each car.

Thank you for posting again super moral person, I hope this post has made you feel better about what a good person you are.

Wait, so you have a problem with someone hoping that his career earnings go to the family of the deceased, and this is how you counteract that?

Dude, he might just let you hold his pocket and wipe his arse in prison.

There’s lots of people with fricked up morals on here, and I bet zero of them sped at a ridiculous speed and killed someone…caused her to burn alive.

The point is, why is everyone rushing in these theads to say "No-no-no! Ruggs deserves fair treatment - not life in prison!!!"

Like what point are you trying to make? You're trying to prove to everyone what an unbiased legal scholar you are?

The point is, frick HENRY RUGGS. He's a piece of shite who killed an innocent person. Why people are opposing that sentiment is beyond me.

Haven't seen anyone oppose the sentiment that he is a piece of shite, nor have I seen anyone say he doesn't deserve what is coming to him.

However, one person being a piece of shite doesn't justify your own extremism.

What do you think is going to happen to him exactly?

He's going to lose everything he owns, and he is going to spend the majority of his life in prison. And he 100% deserves it. In what way is that not justice?

All I can say is I'd rather be her than him in all this. But I doubt you'd understand that.

No, he's going to lose everything and he deserves it.

I have a problem with a few people who are constantly posting about the topic for multiple days now who also constantly keep saying the most extreme things possible. It's more about them and making themselves feel better, and frick that shite. They deserve to be mocked.

No one is saying that.

What's really happening is:

1. People keep making new threads that talk about the exact same points.

2. Other people, mistakenly it seems, point out that we still have Due Process in this country and that, while they agree Ruggs should go to prison, are tired of the constant virtue signaling that the people posting in these seem to be intent on doing. Over and over again.

3. Everyone in this country gets a fair trial, regardless of their crime, or at least that's what the Constitution states. We could go back to lynch mobs and the like, but I would prefer to just let the DA get his conviction and Ruggs spend a very long time behind bars.

Also, take it from someone who has worked in a Medium Security Prison:

You are way more likely to spend the rest of your life in prison with 3 drug convictions than 1 murder conviction.

Sorry you don't understand that vengeance is not justice. But it's not exactly a surprise in today's society.

Tine to change the way things are being done. There is no reason at all to have Ruggs and some trial, why? He did it we all know it so why act stupid over it?

Only question is what is the punishment?

It’s a message board. Who doesn’t make it about themselves?

You come across as pissed off because one of your heroes did some really dumb shite, and he is getting raked over the social media coals for it.

The guy killed a woman and ruined several lives in the process, and your concern is about people getting on a soapbox on a message board? You probably need to sit the next couple of plays out.

Just terrible, can't imagine what that poor lady went through.

Idgaf how fast he runs and catches a ball. Or that he played for my favorite school.

He deserves a stiff punishment and to be shunned from the NFL after release. Let him work a regular job with his yelling at the wreck workers/ hospital staff to get him out of here. Thinks he's above the law.

It’s a message board. That happens. You’re only bothered because this involves a player you worshipped.

Ironically, those laws mostly exist to protect ignorant people like you from those who can easily take advantage of it.

They aren't going to help Ruggs one bit however.

At any rate, it will never go to trial. The evidence against him is too great, he will take a plea if he can which the state will give him just to avoid a trial. He'll lose everything he owns in a civil suit, and he will spend a minimum of 10 years in prison, although he will be sentenced for more than that.
