Now that it's coming out he was way more involved then just receiving a text message, he's lucky he's not going to prison.

There's no way he suits up again, if what Vandenburg said is true

That's shitty breh for the victim and VU athletics.

What's going to be really shitty is if ACS is linked to it too

Boyd will receive 11 months and 29 days of probation. As part of his plea, Boyd, who was Vanderbilt’s second-leading receiver a year ago, will testify against his former teammates: Corey Batey, Brandon Banks, Jaborian McKenzie and Brandon Vandenburg. All four players were dismissed from the university. McKenzie, who had been playing for Alcorn State despite the charge, was recently kicked off the Braves team.

Former Vanderbilt player Jaborian "Tip" McKenzie, who is facing rape charges in Nashville, Tenn., has been kicked off Alcorn State's football team less than a day after his presence on the team attracted attention.

Alcorn State released a statement on Thursday night from president M. Christopher Brown II saying McKenzie has been removed from the team "until further notice."

"Alcorn failed to sufficiently examine the allegations against McKenzie before allowing him to participate in our football program," Brown said in the statement. "In an effort to provide educational opportunities to a southwest Mississippi student, Alcorn State University made an error in judgment."

Here's another article about what was read in court today, and goes over Boyd's texts.

quote:

Texts: 6/23 Boyd to Vandenburg: Tell ur boys to delete that shite. I’m looking out for your arse.
second text: And tell your roommate he didn’t see shite.
third text: Boyd’s girlfriend (unidentified) to Boyd: How is everything with Brandon
fourth text: Boyd to girlfriend: Good. I got everything cleared up and I talked to both Tip and Corey already. Deleted everything. She didn’t remember shite and feels bad.
fifth text (6/24) Batey to Boyd: We still good? I’m stressing
sixth text: Batey to Boyd: Video deleted? Have you talked to her
seventh text Boyd to Batey: Nah she doesn’t anything that happened but she passed out in Vandenburg’s bed. Me Carta (Vanderbilt starting QB) and van der Wal (Vanderbilt TE) and Vanderburg helped us move her out the hallway.
eighth Batey to Boyd: Tell him don’t say nothing to anybody

I'm gonna say no way after this comes to light.

If you can catch the ball well enough, I think you should get one free pass on rape.

When it's all said and done, I wonder how many players had some type of involvement in this ordeal.

if it goes to trial (especially if tried separately), it will get worse before it's finally over.

I feel bad for Vanderbilt fans. This was supposed to be the year Vandy tried to make the next step up, and they get to deal with this crap instead.
