I've never heard any Vandy claim any of those predictions.

Here's a link to the story that just went up Vandy lands Top Recruit in Tennessee and 2 other recruits from Nashville
Coach Franklin gets it! He's telling recruits if they come to Vandy they get to play right away and receive the best education any SEC school has to offer.
I'm happy I already have my 50 yard line tickets as this ship starts to sail.

Know Hand coached at Tulsa and WVU, but don't think he was at OM.

Franklin is one hell of a recruiter, I give him that.

It's always easier when you can promise the world. Build something new. Winning will be another matter.

Yeah that's where I know his name from. He was co-offensive coordinator with Malzahn at Tulsa. Really solid coach and a great hire by Franklin.

He's been really good so far and he's gotten the most out of a very thin O line.

Good pickups. The DE looks like a player

Yeah. It's actually pretty unfair for Private schools to compete in Division 1 athletics if you think about it.

Orgeron ran into the same problem at Ole Miss.

I remember that first full recruiting class he had at Ole Miss. They were hitting on all cylinders. Than, after the first season, things cooled way down.

Now the retweet from the Vandy Coach this morning makes sense.
He tweeted:
"Should be an interesting day 4 our Vandy fans & alumni as well as the entire SEC. Change is coming"...and that is all I got from the retweet.

I toured Vanderbilt last weekend for the 1st time. It's a nice campus and all, but Franklin is going to have to put some results on the field to keep any momentum going. It's completely different from any other SEC campus/area.

it's all about the degree with their recruits. Having VU on your resume is worth A LOT. Most parents cringe at the thought of footing a VU education. Recruits (not obvious NFL talent) with parents who actually know the worth of a Vandy education, over the majority of other SEC schools would be foolish to not push their kids to go there on a scholarship.
I can only hope like hell that one of my kids can get an athletic scholarship to VU. I would push VU over other schools to him/her in a heartbeat.
**I might be a tad bias, as I work with VUMC. Anyone that supports part of my salary is already gold in my book.

Why is Vandy's recruiting so much better than Tennessee right now?

Probably because Dooley isn't a very good recruiter.
