Vandy Football Remaining in SEC Has Anybody Seen Anything Credible about this?

Got this from a friend today,
"Vanderbilt football: The Georgia school president has opened discussion with the SEC offices/Greg Sankey, and with the endorsement of at least one other school president concerning Vanderbilt remaining a member of the SEC. They want Sankey to give Vanderbilt a list of demands that must be met if they want to remain a member of the league. Sankey had previously admonished Vanderbilt for how its program has been run in recent years, but with school presidents now voicing their concerns, this has wings."
Think there's anything to it? Did it come up before?

Look up “FOIA and private schools and conference” and get back to us.
ETA: Vandy, Baylor (before TCU), Northwestern, and Stanford are not token private schools still in major conferences for no particular reason.

They do seem to have the Jeffry Loria mindset.

No, its complete BS, and no, I don't have a source.

I doubt there is a majority among the SEC for this kind of thing.
But Vanderbilt ought to start reinvesting more money into their athletic programs and facilities. I'm not sure where all the money they receive back is going.
If I was a Vandy fan, I would press for a financial audit by an outside accounting firm to figure out what the finances really are there. Something seems off. Need to rule out embezzlement before you can point to financial mismanagement.

Dump Vandy for SMU. They'd gladly spend the cash on facilities and players to get up to SEC speed.
Then have A&M and SMU play on Thanksgiving weekend and put Arkansas back with LSU.

Heck no. Another Texas school adds nothing to the footprint (and, consequently, the revenue), and we need to have at least one SEC school in Tennessee.

I agree with the first point. The answer to the 2nd part is "not into athletics".

I don't think you understand how private schools or audits work, this would not accomplish anything. Source: am accountant (started out as auditor).

I have quite a few friends that are Vandy alums and most if not all are not happy with the admin.

Definitely the case with past admin. Cautiously optimistic with new chancellor, especially given Mason firing.

You're mean
For real though, Vandy adds even less revenue wise than SMU would b/c the Ponies would at least try to be good. It would also shiv the Big 12's DFW recruiting.

With the amount of money Vanderbilt gets from the SEC, there's no reason they should not have better athletic facilities.

I see no reason to get back to anybody about this, I was wondering if there was any truth to it, just asking if anybody had actually heard this today.
(Don't see what the FOIA has to do with this)
