Your math is way off. A mortality rate at .02% of 1.4 billion is 280,000 deaths. Whereas 2% of 1.4 billion is 28 million deaths. Huge difference.

I am amazed at the lackadaisical attitude of many on here. We have no idea how many U.S. citizens have it because we aren't testing properly. Who is to say this virus won't strengthen? This thing has all the makings of a modern day plague. Hopefully a vaccine will be discovered soon. I would hate to lose a loved one because of this.....or be one of the victims myself.

The only markings of a modern day plaque that it has is that it came from the same cesspit shithole of a nation, China, full of nasty, unclean, unsanitary, filthy, human beings from which came the scourge of Black Death.
Thanks, China, you nasty motherfrickers. Keep slopping around bloody, skinned bats, chunks of dog meat, skunk, etc... in never washed plastic buckets full of blood sitting in dirt or on nasty tarps.
Let the folks just come by and pick out whatever chunks of whatever type of meat may be for sale with their bare hands out of communal meat buckets.
Keep being fricking Chinese and thanks a whole lot, again, for another death disease because you can't be bothered to follow even the very basics in hygienic practices of food preparation and eat shite that should not be eaten.

This right here. Not to mention I have a 70yo mother who's suffered from periodic sever chronic asthma much of her adult life. Being that this virus attacks the lungs, you better beleive I'm concerned. Not so much about myself but the vulnerable population like her and others.

During the flu season of 2017-18, which equaled about 13 or 14 WEEKS, 61,000 deaths were attributed to it. That was just in the United States.

This is all the fault of Chinese incompetence. They are a wretched alien bug people who torture dogs before they eat them because they think the shock hormones make the meat taste better. They make all sorts of superstitious medicine from endangered animal parts in a desperate attempt to cure their small pp. They eat virgin boy eggs along with bats, pangolin, civets, and other bush meat that’s been trapped in a cage living in its own shite for two months. Well, I guess if this was the first year that the flu got into the wild and 64,000 fricking people dropped dead in 3 months in only one country, yeah, everything would probably be shut down just like some venues are starting to close due to drinking Corona beer.
But this isn't the first year the flu has been with mankind so, everyone isn't acting like bulging eyed, raving and moronic idiots over it like they are coronavirus.
If this was the very first time that flu had worked it's ravages on humans and every single death was heralded far and wide as our sure to be impending doom as beings on Earf, yeah, a lot of people would be freaking out like you are.
