I don’t expect much from these workers when we only pay them $15 an hour to do remedial work.

It’s sad, but that’s what you get when you pay someone a lowish wage nowadays.

Eh 15 dollars an hour is better than youll get alotta places. Retale, warehouses, and fast food dont pay that much.
May not be alot but theres worse out there.

And Florida is going to wind up passing a $15 minimum wage (from $8). So those making $15 now are going to want to make $25. Good bye Florida economy.

Playing the long con for when sea levels swallow the state entirely. Time it just right and you can bankrupt the whole thing as the last horse in Ocala swims for the beaches of Valdosta

Due to coronavirus. Closed rest of week. Canceled face to face classes for rest of the month.

Pretty soon we will all be working from home. All sporting events won't have fans and schools will be closed til next year

All schools aren't going to close down due simply to a variety of flu like Vanderbilt has done.

Vanderbilt doesn't really care about academic integrity and only exist, really, as a football factory.

WTF do they care if the college is shut down; it's not even football season.

UF is asking professors to go online for normal in-class appearances.

Donno how you do that for a class the requires a lab though. Going to mix some chemicals at home?

Seems safe.

Willing to bet labs and studios are given grades of Incomplete until deemed suitable to return to campus. Sucks for people in STEM majors

Could be. That would suck if you’re suppose to graduate this semester though.

For sure. But it’s far from an ideal situation so there are going to be far from ideal consequences; I imagine the prospect of graduation in a stadium full of people isn’t seeming too welcoming to organizers right now

not only was LSU the best team in the history of college football. They were the last champion to have over 100000 in their stadium.

My work cancelled all travel that isn't directly customer related, and stopped travel International, as well as to the main outbreak states of Washington, California, and New York

In another few days I expect to be taken off the road completely. I also expect every major conference and event to be canceled before Summer - the arenas for the Dance will not be very full for March Madness

OTOH, nice to work from home for a change, and I might actually get caught up

Gonna be awesome when Vandy wins the SEC tournament and the students have an entire month off to celebrate Vandys first basketball national championship.

Hundreds of thousands of kids are heading off to Miami, Gulf Shores, and other beach cities and then heading all back to their campuses. Wonder if this shite is about to be everywhere

Who fills orders from online purchases if no one works? Who ships the items, or packages them.

This panic is really killing the global economy.

Yeah the schools here in cola are talking about cancelling and as someone with labs that frustrates me. I actually want to learn the stuff I’m enrolled in. I want to see it in person.

I'm in the belly of the beast in DC. My agency (Securities and Exchange Commission) just e-mailed us tonight asking that we work at home or not come in at all. Apparently a co-worker is really sick and suspected to have the coronavirus. Unfortunately they haven't been able to get the appropriate test yet. I've heard several other Federal agencies are shutting offices down too.
