Better football mind that Spurrier? That is the dumbest shite I've ever heard...holy shite

I mean, we all have to be realistic about the situation Muschamp walked into when he arrived at South Carolina. Spurrier left the program in really really really bad shape.
It'll be a multi-multi year rebuild. I think if he had a typical ACC schedule, SC would be winning more games and everyone would be happier.

Spurrier lead Florida to how many SEC titles? He also lead USC to their best time in program history.
Muschamp also coached at both schools.
Want to compare both? Seems Spurrier has a vastly better football mind.
Know why he still had some of the same plays? They still work.

Have you ever watch Muschamp break down film?

SPURrier got lucky because of in state talent a couple of years
One high school gave us Stephon Gilmore ('09), Devonte Holloman ('09), and Jadaveon Clowney ('11). That is just incredible.

Notice this thread asking specifically for "USCe's" fans opinions about mUSChamp.
Notice how many dawg fans are discounting our opinions and praising SPURrier.
SPURrier owned UGA, so I sorta get it, I do.
But I don't understand the hating on Boom. He played for the dawgs and I get the whole UF thing but I don't understand the hate for mUSChamp.
Pretty much everyone agrees Boom is a defensive minded coach. BMac, also a dawg, appears to be a solid offensive mind and Werner is the mastermind in the background. And who is going to argue that Thomas Brown was not a coup hire as a RB coach and recruiter?
So I don't get the hating on Boom even where it comes to our offense. Boom is not stupid. He's learned from his mistakes.
Here's the one main area we are watching this season where, if it happens again as it did last year or that year at Florida .... if we see a bunch of injuries this year then Jeff Dillman has to go.

Spurrier came into the league at a different time at Florida. His offense was so innovative, at that time, that it took years for adjustments to be made to compensate.
Spurrier also lost some games he had no business losing, to Auburn, Kentucky and Tennessee, while at SC. Games that cost us trips to Atlanta. Inexcusable losses. Losses because SOS could really be inflexible and hard headed at times.
That was a serious flaw with SPURrier and he did it, at times, at UF as well. He refused to go under center until he was forced to in '96 if I remember correctly.

By far his worst game at SC. I was there and the offense was terrible. You could tell Spurrier was 2nd guessing himself all game. There was a time when we were pinned back deep in our own territory and it was 4th and long. Spurrier called two timeouts after thinking about going for it only to decide to punt it.
We really missed Brandon Wilds that game. Davis got winded carrying the ball on his own and he couldn't get those 3rd and shorts we needed to kill the clock late.

Kinda like every time Clemson is mentioned on here a Scar fan pops up with a conspiracy theory
Clemson fans say the same thing about Scar as every other poster on this board. I guess it's just easier to hear "you suck" from an SEC fan than it is from a Clemson one

Leave my cross division rival alone!
You aren’t even in the SEC, shoo fly.

Except we’re not on an ACC or Clemson board seeking validation like the odd Clemson fan that pops up on here.

Damn. Now I’m conflicted ... Do I upvote or downvote?
I think I’ll do what any good Ag would do. Support the beating of cocks.
Upvote it is.

Another thing about SPURrier was that he was too set in his ways, to financially secure. He was too loyal to his coaches (like Bubba and Whammy) when he should have fired both of them. He didn't want to do the hard things. Things that modern coaches have to do.
SPURrier's famous saying was, "well, if you don't like what I'm doing I can leave." He had no real attachment to anything. He could be almost pathologically egocentric and hubristic.
mUSChamp appears to have a strong network to pull from. He's demanding of everyone. He's well respected. He's always got a plan for improvement. He expects your very best but he rewards people and doesn't try to take all the credit.
Boom has a ton of potential to be really good. He's paid his dues,
