Actually, that ruling was about "SC" which South Carolina continues to use on their baseball hats, never was it about "USC". Basically South Carolina quit using the interlocking SC logo and stupidly let the trademark expire. Then began using it again, and the Trojans then field a suit.

I've stopped saying USC when telling people where I went to school. Outside of the Columbia area, there just isn't a point.
