God hates us.
Not bc we aren't on list, but bc of the teams that are.

Yes that's way too high. I think 9-12 is more realistic. If their young talent on D just does enough early on they'll be alright, though. Have potential to be special, especially offensively. As of today I see 10-2 (losses to LSu and OU), but we'll see.

How far the Gators go in Dan Mullen's second season depends on whether an offense that brings back starters at quarterback, running back and receiver can find the explosiveness that was elusive in 2018. If so, Florida could make a serious run at Georgia in the SEC East.
7 spots behind the team it just whooped?
I'll take it. UF will be very motivated.

Ohio State is a shoe in for the playoffs. Their schedule is pathetic as hell.

This made the rankings garbage to me. Finish #6/#7 last season with MORE talent next season and we start #14?
Makes a lot of sense...

uhh, yeah, and recruiting is a major part of that unprecedented dynasty. Hell, St. Nick himself told Mal Moore, after Moore finally wooed him from Miami, that he wasn't a great coach, but was a great recruiter.
I think he sold himself short (snicker) because he's a pretty great coach, though nobody is infallible.

Uf was a 9-3 team last year in the regular season, 3-3 vs the east. Would a repeat of 9-3 really shock you?

But nobody consistently had the talent discrepancy that Bama has enjoyed during that period of time. The fact that two came on Mulligans makes the writers point.

They have only 1 starter returning on the Oline and they replace 2 WRs, and Mike Webber. I wouldn't shoe them in just yet. Defense should be among the best.

Which proves my point. The talent discrepancy is small within the SEC, that allows other teams to beat each other. The fact that Bama has had so many #1 classes and had to have 2 (some say 3) Mulligans only proves that CF is a beauty contest.

the "mulligan" references are just pissed off rival fans. Those that pick the playoff teams are aware enough who is truly among the 4 best teams. Alabama winning just proves they are right. Only a dummy would truly believe that Alabama has not been among the 4 best teams every year since 2014.
actually, there is only one example during the playoff era that Alabama didn't win the conference but still won the national title. In 2011, Alabama proved beyond a 21-0 doubt they were better than LSU.
