So laughable. I hope the media keeps hyping them up.

Which proves my point. The talent discrepancy is small within the SEC, that allows other teams to beat each other. The fact that Bama has had so many #1 classes and had to have 2 (some say 3) Mulligans only proves that CF is a beauty contest.

So Auburn's been the ugly duckling in the beauty contest?

AU has consistently brought in top 10 talent and yet they sit at 3-7 vs LSU/3-7 vs Bama/3-8 vs UGA in the last decade.

The talent discrepancy is small within the SEC, Why hasn't AU done better than 25 losses in the last 5 yrs? AU's had no HC turn over like LSU/UGA.

the "mulligan" references are just pissed off rival fans. Those that pick the playoff teams are aware enough who is truly among the 4 best teams. Alabama winning just proves they are right. Only a dummy would truly believe that Alabama has not been among the 4 best teams every year since 2014.

actually, there is only one example during the playoff era that Alabama didn't win the conference but still won the national title. In 2011, Alabama proved beyond a 21-0 doubt they were better than LSU.

Again, they used the ends to justify the means. Two of those years Bama lost at Home in November, twice Bama failed to win their division much less their conference. I said it before, Give Saban 6-7 weeks to prepare a team and he will win most of those games. It doesn't prove anyone was right, it just allows those who like the beauty contest to continue.

Well, we can all agree that AU's 25 losses in the last 5 years with the same HC (pulling a guaranteed $7M/yr) can't be described as pretty.

So this means Auburn will go 13-2, 14-1, or 15-0.

Well, Gus Malzahn is the HC for starters.

Exactly!
But getting IronPuppet to even hint that your HC's the core of the AU's relative mediocrity is like milking a cactus. He'll divert the subject to "beauty contest", "eye test", and Bama getting mulligans before he'll ever look at his own team.

Hey, Gus is the OC & if Bo Nix turns out to be Cam Newton & if old Grimes can put an oline out there like they had in '10......sure.

AU's main rivals are LSU/UGA/Bama.

LSU has had 19 losses in 5 yrs with an entire staff turnover.

UGA has had 16 losses in 5 yrs with an entire staff turnover.

The Beauty Contest winner has had 6 in the same period.

I will help you and it proves my point on teams beating each other while Bama enjoyed their talent. Loses the last 5 years:

MSU-24
LSU-23
A&M-25
AU-25
UF-23 (still two SECEC)
UGA-16

Speaking only for Georgia...but 16. And we fired our coach during that time.

Because the east was a joke for the majority of that time, actually 16 is probably still to high.

I see Georgia as a 9-3 or 10-2 type team next year in the fact that we play Notre Dame, A&M, and Auburn on the road.

'14 8-5
'15 9-3
'16 8-4 (fired Les after AU loss)
'17 9-4
'18 10-3

So while Bama has enjoyed their talent, why couldn't AU have done the same while everyone of those teams you listed went through coaching turnover?

Everyone got rid of their coaches because of the mediocrity as a result of beating up on each other. AU almost pulled the trigger and would have if they had lost to LSU in 16. Again, the talent level at those schools compared to Bama makes you wonder why Bama hasn't won it every year.

AU went 6-6 in '15 and didn't can Gus and they didn't can him in '16 for going 8-5. But they dang sure gave him a $49M/7yr guaranteed contract for fear of freaking (Arkansas) knockin on the door trying to court Gus in '17. WTF?

Your people then turn around less than 12 months after signing that deal and they send your big $ guys to the negotiating table in an attempt to de-legitimize the contract. So AU "almost" pulled the trigger in '16 & again in '18 for turning in the same 5 loss seasons.
