One thing I've been wondering about. I'm sure the AD has a contract with someone to supply the suits the players wear on gamedays and media events. Is this the business?

- Glad there is now a consolidation thread for this subject. So I don't have to read the crap in non related threads.
- This situation doesn't look like much to me but you never know if the NCAA gets involved anything could happen.
- If Trent or anyone else did in fact do something that warrants some games suspended, I wish Saban would kick him and any others off the team, permanently. This stuff isn't difficult, they know the rules. Every year something is popping up. Time to send a message to current and future players that violations are not tolerated. Hopefully the lunatic boosters will get the message also.

Saban sat, Ingram, Julio, Dareus, the textbook 3.. he's not afraid to sit star players if he feels there is reason to. Until he comes out and says they won't be playing, I'm not too worried. If anyone is sat, then I start worrying.

who was it he said he would sit for an entire game, but when bama was losing then the player was put in the 2nd half

This will be an area the NCAA will not want to touch. Things signed by current players. If Trent got something yes its a big deal.

I will say this one last time. Pay for play that could end in the vacating of a BCS championship season
If you're still sticking with becuase it ran on sports center as part of your why it's different, i have to remind you that at the time it ran on SC we were still going to lose to bama. And of course that handicapper had us losing to ole miss by like 25 (could be wrong about that timing...those were dark days for me and watching anything but live football...insert head in sand comment here)

first, link me to that oft repeated phrase, where he actually said it. secondly, what did that violation of team rules had to do with NCAA eligibility?

The jersey Trent signed is not a game worn jersey. It's white and the jersey Trent wore in the National Championship game was Crimson. It's just a jersey someone had a name added to after purchase.
So there goes that thought.
I just don't see this as a big deal.
Even the alleged closing of the shop when large groups of players showed up is a non issue. It happens all the time when "famous" customers show up to a retail store. They are there to try on clothes not get mobbed by fans.
I also love the fact that Al Betar is of Syrian or Lebanese descent. That means he isn't going to say a goddamn thing to anyone. You won't ever see a quote from Al Betar in a newspaper. He will play it very close to the vest.
