So what is the difference from this "suitgate" and Dexter mcCluster walking out of College Station with a bag of ole miss memorabilia and the owner now sporting a Dexter McCluster Helmet to go along with his Peyton, Cardale Williams, Eli, deangelo Williams and more? The owner mentioned to me that he got all the signed helmets while they were still in college. I think most he had before the store opened. He has since added several others.

Did he sell any of it while McCluster, Carnell, DeAngelo, etc.. knew about it? If not, then I think that is ok.

I think what is leading people to look into this is the fact that tOSU traded their autographs for tattoos, and Bama could be doing that here except in exchange for suits before games. There is also speculation that the owner is selling it, and if the Bama players know about that, then that's a violation. That's all I know regarding the subject.

What I like about it is that you can always trash a suit...but you need laser treatment to lose a tat. Suck on that, Buckeyes.

It's just that Alabama players are more poor.

So instead of Bama having a slush fund and pay4play players, it's now that they are in fact poor and can't afford $100 suits? interesting ...

You could put all of the same "coulds" with the Memphis post... that scenario could have been open to just as much speculation.

There should be no difference.

I don't think anybody here wants to say this all is damning evidents and that Bama is going donw. However, it is a weird relationship that has been brought to light, so you never know what could happen.

If it ends up that it can be proven bama players traded autographs for suits and stuff with this character, something substantial could happen.

Then again, thats pretty damn hard to prove.

Idk, I'd have to ask. I just don't see how selling autographed memorabilia without the player's being aware is a concern to possible violations. A lawsuit against the owner of the store on the players behalf I could see, but not sanctions.

Lightbulb....

The players dont have to be able to afford 10 suits to wear 10 suits. They can buy a suit, wear it, and sell it for what they paid for it. Then buy another one.

Is there a rule that says they cant sell property that they own for a reasonable price?

I like where your mind is. Maybe they can even figure out a way to do something with the racket that is collegiate textbook distribution.

No, as long as they aren't profiting due to their athletic ability or notoriety related to their athletic ability.

I mean, it's certainly possible that they did the same thing. But message boards and blogs weren't the same back then as they are now (for the most part, I wasn't on any until I got on this one). Once the media gets ahold of something, they can spread all kinds of lies, or even truths, and everyone will assume different things. Without the blogs and message boards, I doubt half of the stuff said about Trooper Taylor, Cam Newton, the Auburn Tigerettes, etc.. would have even come out. Auburn and Alabama fans, alike, may be the very cause for a downfall in the future of their given football team. We all just keep digging, and digging, and digging.. And we may end up finding some stuff we don't need to find. I wish ITAT, the Bunker, BOL, Tidesports, etc.. would just quit trying to find stuff on Auburn/Alabama so we just just get some football started without worrying about probation or sanctions.

When this is all over, UA Birmingham may be the only Alabama University that is not in NCAA doghouse.

He may be. He was making posts today in the Chizik on ESPN thread. That is where he has been posting his articles
