Head to head matchups are good for shite talk, but that's about it.
What is the logic behind Bama having a better year?
They had more talent and faced an easier schedule yet finished with the same record.

Find me saying LSU had a better season than Bama that year, I guess maybe you could give the argument that LSU won the division but Bama had the better overall record.
LSU had the better SOS but Bama had the better SOR.

I'm somewhat guessing on SP+. It's behind a paywall, but F+ is a combination of SP+ and FEI, so that would be the likely values based on the average.
These are the only ranking metrics of value for team strength.
