in the end, FSU and Clemson will never be in the SEC.
ban bet? because you are wrong.
and SEC will go after UNC, NC State also. nothing will be done until the GOR is solved though
Sorry but you are old and wrong as usual.

I fully support FSU and Clemson being a part of the party. I think our Gentlemen in the east deserve it.

Why the heck would the SEC add two North Carolina schools?

No, we left because of ever changing rules that targeted USC and Frank Mcguire specifically. Be Truthful at least.

one of the finer basketball talents in the country at the time and the tobacco road crowd did it following our ACC football and basketball championships.
Mike Grosso was his name. Bobby Cremins continues to say that while Roche was the best to ever play for Carolina, Grosso was the best basketball player to attend Carolina. That 800 rule never applied to students not on scholarship. That rule was added in after Grosso decided to pay his own way and play at Carolina.

Id 100% be in for NC State to be in. What youre missing is the history we have with UNC. 50+ years ago they were more hated than Clemson in some peoples eyes. in no way do we want our two biggest rivals in to reap the rewards, especially as much shite as they both gave us for leaving.
nobody gives two fricks what little ole south carolina wants.
its going to be what's best financially for the conference.
many of us didnt want any type of expansion and LSU fans sure as frick didnt want A&M, Arky or Texas in the conference...it hurts our recruiting in the state of texas and to the west period....but it was what was best for the conference.
hell most UGA, LSU, Bama, AU, Tenn fans didnt want any expansion, even in 92. we liked the old way....but it was what was best for the conference.
if you think for 1 second Greg Sanky and the presidents give 2 fricks about south carolina fans and their "UNC and Clemson were mean to us when we left" bullshite then you are retarded.
its going to be whats best financially for the 14 current members and the 2 future members....period. whats best for the conference as a whole
at this point its best that we keep the B1G out of the south, period. Atleast as much as possible. The ACC is done and the big prizes are
Clemson
FSU
UNC
Virginia
Miami
NC State
VTech
SEC would like to grab FSU and Clemson for sure and as much as possible grab the states of VA and NC.
im not sure what that means though because B1G would like to grab those states too. it could be
SEC:
CLEMSON
FSU
NC STATE
VT
B1G:
UNC
DUKE
VA
Miami
if SEC can grab UNC they will do what it takes to get them. if that means taking NC State great, if that means we have to expand to 24 and take VA...great.. might mean NC state is out and we have to take Duke instead(i doubt) but we will take 1-2 teams from Carolina and atleast 1 from VA.
but its happening. I dont like it, you dont like it...but expansion is gonna happen and it will be FSU and Clemson to the SEC unless they choose to go B1G which i highly doubt.
UNC is a toss up on which way they go, VA is a toss up too because they are tied so close to UNC.
imo this is what happens
SEC gets following pairings and goes to 20:
Clemson/FSU
VT/NC State
SEC gets split into four pods and goes to 10 conference games. play your 4 pod games plus 5 against another and 1 game against another pod or something like that.
B1G gets following pairings and goes to 24:
UNC/Duke
VA/Miami
Stanford/ND- (stanford agrees to share research which is Huge for B1G research $$$) (ND forced to go B1G due to all rivals in B1G and B1G goes to 10 game conference schedule)
Big 12 picks up the left overs and gets to 20 teams.
rest of pack 3 goes to the WAC
If that happens.....B1G 100% got better teams. But playoffs will be 3 highest ranked conference champs plus 9 at large bids.

only happens if UNC forces us to take a sister school to get them. They are a huge brand and have huge draw. its not about capturing states really like it was in 2012, its about the huge brands. in stanford cases its about their research money and sharing the research, huge money for the B1G schools in that.... look up the research money that is shared.
but for brands you are looking at the Clemsons, the FSU, the UNC etc etc you want the big time matchups to sell to the networks.

That's a lot of words and fantasy thoughts but none of it is going to happen.

I'm not sure one post 12 pages deep on a message board is much of a source, but I assume UNC would be the SEC's top target if it expands again.
Also, I hope we don't expand again.

All of the huffing and puffing FSU has been doing is nothing more than a temper tantrum. The Gor has all the ACC teams locked up. No conference is going to take any of their teams.

Yep that's him! Thanks ... I just couldn't get my brain to pull-up his name.

There were several known insiders on the thread I posted (and on another thread going at the same time). These guys - Oldastheheels and package50 in particular - are very plugged in with the UNC admin.
