SEC will go to 20 teams if they expand again.
UNC, UVA are takes, FSU is too big to turn down. Clemson is too big too.
North Carolina, Virginia, FSU and Clemson will be the 4 teams that get the SEC to 20.
The SEC really needs to expand to 24 teams and play a 12 game only conference schedule.
To get to 24 teams, the SEC needs to add Notre Dame, Kansas, Miami and West Virginia.

This would be wonderful for SEC media rights. Pick up 2 new states, both large metro areas (charlotte and DC).
Only issue I see is what happens to DUKE. will UNC really not have them in the same conference? Or counting on Duke fading away like Nebraska?
SEC studious already in Charlotte, this makes a lot of sense for UNC. The question is who is number 16.
Clemson and FSU add nothing. Both states already covered.

I don't get this notion where UK would want UVA over VT. Either would be fine by us. It's UNC who we want. Already rivals.

The SEC thinking reflected in this report is that the SEC wants to expend its footprint to both NCarolina and Virginia.

I've been to dozens of UNC games at Kenan and more than half a dozen NCSux games at Carter-Finley. There isn't an appreciable difference between the fanbases.

You should sit this one out. I was at the 2023 North Carolina Virginia game in chapel Hill which featured top 10 UNC and no one showed up.
In contrast to the NC State Louisville game in Raleigh in which both teams were unranked and it was sold out.
Yes NC State cares more about both.

Still puts B1G 2 schools ahead.
I'm torn about VT & another NC school OR playing defense with FSU, Clemson, Miami, ND.

I was there too and to say that no one showed up is ridiculous. You can say the team didn't show up but the fans certainly did. The Duke game later in the 2023 season was one of the best atmospheres I've ever seen at Kenan and that was after blowing easy games against UVA and GT.

Perhaps you were staring at the Blue Zone section the entire game. It's a huge club section in the end zone and many people watch from inside so it appears to be empty all the time.
