UGA vs SC history since the turn of the century

I've seen people lately mention that UGA needs to be extra careful this weekend since SC always plays us close. It got me to reminisching and while there was a time years ago that that held true it really hasn't been accurate at all as of late. So I wanted to recap this series since the turn of the century. Rankings are for final post-season. It's a bit silly to use ranking at time of game, especially since this game is frequently early in the year.
________
UGA: Richt SC: Holtz
________
Athens 2001: #22 UGA 9, #13 SC 14
Columbia 2002: #3 UGA 13, SC 7
Athens 2003: #7 UGA 31, SC 7
Columbia 2004: #7 UGA 20, SC 16
_______
SC: Exit Holtz, Enter Spurrier
________
Athens 2005: #10 UGA 17, SC 15
Columbia 2006: #23 UGA 18, SC 0
Athens 2007: #2 UGA 12, SC 16
Columbia 2008: #13 UGA 14, SC 7
Athens 2009: UGA 41, SC 37
Columbia 2010: UGA 6, #22 SC 17
Athens 2011: #19 UGA 42, #9 SC 45
Columbia 2012: #5 UGA 7, #8 SC 35
Athens 2013: UGA 41, #4 SC 30
Columbia 2014: #9 UGA 35, SC 38
Athens 2015: UGA 52, SC 20
______
UGA: Exit Richt, Enter Smart
SC: Exit Spurrier, Enter Muschamp
_____________
Columbia 2016: UGA 28, SC 14
Athens 2017: #2 UGA 24, SC 10
Columbia 2018: #7 UGA 41, SC 17
Athens 2019: #4 UGA 17, SC 20
Columbia 2020: #7 UGA 45, SC 16
_____
SC: Exit Muschamp, Enter Beamer
______________
2021: #1 UGA 40, SC 13
So let's look at what we have here across 21 matchups:
-In 14 meetings UGA has finished the season ranked higher. UGA is 10-4 in these.
-In 4 meetings SC has finished the season ranked higher. SC is 3-1 in these.
-In 3 meetings both teams have finished unranked. UGA is 3-0 in these.
-Since Kirby has been HC, UGA is 5-1 overall and 3-0 in Columbia. The average score in columbia is 38-15.
-The first 6 year's of Richt's tenure it was a very tight game yearly despite UGA holding a 5-1 advantage. From 2007-2014 most games were also tight but the advantage swung SC's way as they held a 5-3 edge. From 2015-present UGA has held a 6-1 edge.
So basically, it looks like everyone wants to base their talking points around a stretch of games that ended nearly a decade ago when neither coach involved is still there. But by all means, keep thinking that SC will play us close "because they always do"...

I'm simply presenting data to the masses. I need no convincing of what's going to happen this weekend.

The 2019 game is evidence that anything can happen in this series.

14-6 over the past 20yrs would would have taken less space.

Is UGA likely to win? Yes.
But this is the SEC, and anything happen, especially if you take a game for granted.
Ask A&M.

UGA will score at will this Saturday. We won't. It will be an absolute beatdown.

unless james coley is our OC again, not really. Usually the crazy games with shocking or majorly unexpected results have some element that you look and say "well that explains it".
We don't have james coley and are exponentially better both roster and coaching wise. If we are to lose it would take injuries to many of our starters.

Did you just create a talking point to argue against? Bayless mindset

You forgot one important stat
Grown men barking at children...
UGA: countless, constant barking
SCAR: 0
Imagine if SCAR went around bawking and crowing at people including children

More stats #2........
-- The Gamecocks are the No. 24 team in the country in passing offense. South Carolina’s back-to-back performances scoring at least 30 points is the best offensive output for the program since beating Vanderbilt and Auburn in 2020.
-- The early September game between these two has always featured steamy weather. This game might be an outlier for the two teams, however. Temperatures are only expected to get into the low 80s for the game.
-- Georgia’s last September game in Columbia was extremely hot - 92 degrees, which is the hottest game Georgia has played in since 2010.
-- Since 2010, seven of Georgia’s hottest 21 games have been against South Carolina with an average temperature of 86 degrees.

This stat is trash considering we only scored 20 offensive points against Georgia St and had two special teams touchdowns
