Not sure what UT's has as far as planes, but we have two jets used in recruiting as well as one of the larger staffs in the SEC

I guess that's true, but I would think with AU's location that they'd be recruiting a lot more players within driving distance, as opposed to UT who's flying all over the country.

I am too. Normally we spend more than anyone on recruiting and that's been pretty constant for years. Maybe Auburn finally factored in their 'other expenses' associated with recruiting.

How does Florida spend so much on travel when they don't leave the state?

AU must have recently upped their spending because UT has always spent more on recruiting than any other SEC program. UT used to spend like $1mm a year more than most of the other SEC teams.

Not a single Ag in this thread has mentioned anything about TAMU.

Every Ag in this thread has discussed Texas.

You guys make it too damn easy.

I expect ours to go up even more. Jones is taking advantage of what I've been preaching for years (geography/location - we are close to everything) and is establishing a 6hr radius for the main recruiting zone. For a long time we've ignored the fact that we have huge recruiting pools in every direction not just to the South of us. We're going further into NC, VA, DC, MD, and even into OH and establishing stronger recruiting lines than we had in years past. All of that plus our regular South recruiting will be a main region now.

Last year we had a bounty of in-state recruits. Hell our best two Josh Malone and Jalen Hurd are locals. Todd Kelly Jr. is from Knoxville and a legacy. Vic Wharton another Nashville area kid and a legacy. And there are more in last years class native to the state - the in-state talent is rising fast here and it's rising in Middle and East, TN which makes it a lot easier for us to get. OM has been the 'home school' for Memphians for a number of years but we're finally pulling recruits from there again and more and more want to come here than they did before.

However the emphasis UT placed on in-state recruits last year probably brought some costs down but I don't know by how much. I'm just shocked Auburn is spending that much.

They still have a gigantic lawsuit pending. And another HUGE legal imbroglio from their current president "borrowing" money from the law school

This is going to be a fun story to follow with them trying to impeach the regent and the idiots in the legislature trying to get favorable treatment for their kid's admissions.

Does it surprise anyone that Auburn spends the most on recruiting? I wonder if the bag man can write any of that off on his yearly taxes.

Talk about lousy ROI - OSU #1 spent on coaches?

Yeah, I don't see why AU is spending so much - they are in close proximity to talent pools GA/FLA/LA/MISS and in-state talent as well.
