Mark Richt has his faults, but as I've stated repeatedly on here if there is one thing he is literally an expert at it's QB development.

93-Charlie Ward won a heisman
99-Chris weinke won a heisman
01-04- David Greene sets the all time NCAA record for wins by a QB. Wins in knoxville for the first time in 20 years as a freshman. Wins SEC POY as a sophomore. I believe he set a record at the time for most attempts without an int.
05- Takes a first year starter and turns him into an SEC Champ and SEC POY
06-08- Turns Matt Stafford into the #1 overall draft pick
09- takes joe fricking cox and he sets a school record for TD passes
10-13- Aaron Murray has already broken several UGA and SEC records. After next year he could shatter a shite ton of SEC records and become the first player in NCAA history to throw for 3,000 yards in 4 straight years.

And yet all this means jack shite when our coaches keep screwing up consistently in big games fricking us out of opportunities to play for anything of importance. Great QB play means nothing if you have nothing to show for it.

Yeah, the Peyton Manning era at UT was worthless.

You know what 96 UF, 03 LSU, 06 UF, 07 LSU, 08 UF, 11 bama, and 12 bama all have in common? They won a title with at least one loss. Teams need help to win titles. In our best years, we haven't gotten some of the breaks that all those other teams got.

Yep. People forget that UF and LSU were sitting in 3rd to 7th place going into the the last week of the season when teams above them lost the last week of the season. If those teams win, UF and LSU do not play for a MNC. That is for both of their last 2 MNC's.

Its the power of the SEC. You can lose here and still have a chance to play for NC.

Yea, as much as you see UGA fans gripe about Mike Bobo, they would literally claw their own eyes out if they had to watch the LSU offense every game.

Also had David Greene in the early 2000s as well. Dude was a stud. Shockley was good in 05 too

People do remember that your 2007 squad somehow lost the East to UT.

Should have made your own breaks, cochise.

As much bs as he catches, u have to give Richt credit for his O. Always seems to have a dangerous one.

Totally agree. FSU's offense dropped off and never got back after he left.

Bama should've made their own breaks in 2011 then by your logic, since they lost the west. But oh yeah, they needed a handful of teams to lose including one minor miracle to get where they got.

Don't act like luck doesn't come into play (sans 95 nebraska) in winning a title.

You got drilled by that UT team. No lucky break there. Just got shite kicked. You like to blame everything, but perhaps if the red and black showed up for the first and second quarters they wouldn't have gotten beaten by three touchdowns by a 10-4 team.

ETA:

quote:

"They beat us soundly today," Richt said. "Both sides of their line handled us, and they didn't have to do much in the second half."

What an understatement. Just unlucky, I guess.

I'm not blaming anything or anyone. If we only had 1 loss instead of 2 we'd have played for it all..but we didn't so oh well. I know that. I'm simply pointing out the FACT that other teams have benefitted in their 1 loss seasons by having other teams lose and get to play for it all while we haven't.

And btw, you lost to fricking kentucky and then in the last game of the regular season to arkansas. You damn sure didn't make any breaks for yourself, you needed a miracle final weekend of other teams losing (including WV losing to an awul pitt team) to have a chance. Don't sit there and tell me that wasn't lucky.

The talent isn't the problem at lsu, its the offensive coaching.

Do you have any reading comprehension whatsoever? I mean any at all? I'm not blaming anybody for our losses. That's our fault and if we hadn't lost we'd have been in better shape, nobody is arguing that. You pointing out to me that we lost to tennessee doesn't prove anything, and actually has nothing to do with the topic.

Yet, LSU didn't get squashed by 21 points by UT. LSU beat UT. LSU got past the 50 against UT in the first quarter. UGA got slammed and you guys are so bitter about 2007. Sorry for that unlucky 21 point beating.
