Bama fans should worry more now. They're replacement plan for when Smart takes Vandy job just fell through.

Not really. We just hired a DL coach that had just accepted another DL coach position, so your point is moot.

Except when he did coach UGA back in 1999 and 2005 and of course if we ever give him the HC position.

This is completely irrelevant to what I just said unless you're trying to use this as evidence that Kirby is staying. Either way, Bama has 2+ losses next year whether he stays or not and we don't play you in the regular season, so IDC.

Thanks, my jimmies were vibrating like a massage chair this morning.

For the newer Bama fans here, this means that we're back to the "Kirby Smart doesn't do anything - Saban coaches the defense" narrative unless/until Smart's name comes up again for an open job.

Bama will pay their DC $1.35 million this year. UGA will pay theirs $850,000. If Kirby goes and Saban wants Pruitt, offering a $million or so will be no problem.

No, it's completely relevant. You insinuated Pruitt was somehow now off the table if Smart were to leave. I pointed out that we just hired another coach that was supposedly off the table having just accepted another position. If we're interested in Pruitt in that scenario, we'll approach him. It's up to him whether he'll talk or not. I don't care either way.

With Pruitt leaving FSU, hope this means a certain recruit will come to Bama.

Edit: Nevermind, I re-read the article.

Either way makes things with Marlon Humphries a hell of a lot easier.

You're assuming we didn't just put a massive buyout clause into his contract.
