28-3 quite literally freed all emotion from things with the Falcons. Nothing can ever hurt like that and therefore nothing hurts. I was pleasently surprised for 3 quarters then laughed as they finished the 4th the way they finish all 4ths.
Let's just say the worst loss today in the SoG household was by FAR Kenley blowing the comeback in Seattle over the Falcons just being themselves.

Throw the Braves in and it was an up and down weekend.
Saturday early morning: Hahaha the Mets suck, 1st place. Dawgs going to roll today. Falcons suck, but it’s opening weekend and I did take them over 5.5 wins.
Saturday lunch: Wow, Bama looks terrible. We’re going to be #1 without a doubt.
Saturday afternoon / evening: A few beverages deep now. Dawgs look sloppy, but this is well out of reach. We’re certainly not aTm. *Remembering the Saints hired Dennis Allen* Dear lord, we have a shot. I need to pound the ML.
Saturday night: lulz Anthony Richardson and Sunbelt Billy, this is great.
Saturday later: Braves, no!
Sunday morning: Feck, Jameis Winston and Dennis Allen? Put a little more on the ML.
Sunday around 2:30: Dawgs on top! We’re going to own the Saints for a decade. Arthur Smith is underrated.
Sunday at 4:30: We’re going 3-14.
Sunday evening: Jansen, no! 1.5 back? The Falcons suck again? The Dawgs looked sloppy and now we’re primed for an upset with the newly minted #1 ranking. South Carolina definitely going to cover, may win outright. Getting big 2019 vibes.
Wash, rinse and repeat.

No one outside of the black people that live inside the perimeter of Atlanta give a flying frick about the Falcons. The last time I cared , Dan Reeves was the coach and GM.

it has some merit.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist who thinks the falcons activey AVOID taking uga players. That'd be insane. But I mean, UGA has been littered with NFL talen over the last 20 years and look at how few of them have been drafted by the home team. THe falcons, nor any NFL franchise, shouldn't feel obligated to draft someone JUST becuase they play college ball in state. But there have been some GREAT uga players that would have been great picks for the falcons that were passed over, for reasons unknown. Perfect, prime example is nakboe last year.

The Falcons took Steve Broussard four picks ahead of Rodney Hampton.
That's just one example.

I moved to Metro Atl many decades ago and began following the Falcons. After seeing hem be so subpar for so long I just kind of expect them to blow a lead when they get one.
The Super Bowl against NE and Brady was so Atlanta. You could not write a Broadway play that followed the script as closely as that game did. With this team no lead is safe.

Ehhh kinda. Baseball in general is not really that popular anymore. I love it myself, but it's the truth. I really don't think there's a core of Braves fans in Columbus, Savannah, and Valdosta that are diehard Braves fan if much at all before that recent World Series. The popularity of the Braves after waned a bit in the years between the TBS runs and the recent World Series title, compare that with UGA, which has diehard fanbase even when they're 6-6 in all of those cities I listed, hell even Jacksonville has a decent core of UGA fans. Hell, I'd argue that the Braves may be more popular throughout Deep South compared to southern Georgia. I just never see a lot of Braves fans or big fans of baseball at in general in experience throughout there. Football is king there.
Baseball is relatively popular in GA, but there's no second to CFB and UGA fans throughout the state outside of Atlanta even if team isn't doing well.

I gave up on them when they defended and gave a wink and a nod to Michael Vick and his dog killing ring. They finally gave token disapproval only to have a Michael Vick Day a few years later. That did it for me. I grew up in Atlanta and had access to free Falcons tickets. Went to a lot of games over the years. After M Vick Day we haven’t attended a single game since and will not be attending any in the future

Unless something has changed in the last few years Jacksonville has the largest Georgia Bulldog Club to be found anywhere

The Falcons have never been smart about increasing their attendance. There have been so many great Dawgs they could have had who went on to other NFL teams and had great careers. Georgia people feel no connection to the Falcons. If there were Dawgs on the roster there would be a lot more interest in the team. But it’s always been that way. Even back in the Rankin Smith Days. He was the original owner of the Falcons. A UGA grad who picked red and black as Falcons colors to honor his alma mater.
The Falcons would rather bitch about poor attendance than do a thing that would increase it

Twas a let down loss, but real fans know this is a transition year with stop gap coaches and players all down the line.
I'm no NFL capologist but I do know the Falcons will have significant money and probably a top 5 2023 pick. Stroud, Young, Carter, Anderson, Murphy can't go wrong with any of these guys.
Brighter days are ahead. I'm not sure Smith is the one but he's not actually bad considering the QB situation.

Until Blank quits screwing over the high schools in Georgia by charging so much to play the state championships in the Benz I hope they lose every game.
