The vast majority of Falcons fans are soley in Atlanta or within 30 minutes of it. Anywhere else in the state, from Valdosta to the coast to Athens to Augusta to Blue Ridge back down to Southwest...it's like the dirty birds don't even exist..and its kinda always been that way.
While Georgia has always been the clearly top team in the state over all pro teams. Maybe for a while the Braves were a little bigger in the 90's, but there's really not a second place to UGA in people who really give af outside of ATL.
I myself am a Falcons, so go frick yourself lol

Anyone who has followed the Falcons for any length of time knows to expect things like what happened today. It's the DNA of that franchise

I consider myself a Falcons fan and watch most of the games, but all emotional connection to the outcome of the games died when we blew the 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl.
This is me also.

I haven't given a shite about the Falcons or the NFL in years. The NFL sucks.

Don't care about the Falcons. Gave up on them when Steve Bartkowski left.

I gave up when they fired Dan reeves.
Get rid of the guy who had been to 9 superbowls and replaced him with Jim mora.
It wasn't about football at that point. The football minds were gone and something else was driving the bus.

I'm sure there is some crossover, but it really is two separate fan bases.
The Falcons have gone out of their way to not draft UGA players.
Prior to the Falcons' existence, TV stations in GA showed Colts games (pre-merger), and this was during the Shula/Unitas years. After the merger, our local stations showed Dolphins games from the AFC; so, my father preferred to watch them as he was a Shula fan.
I grew up as a Redskins fan due to a family connection to Sammy Baugh on my mother's side. By the time I was old enough to really understand the game, Joe Gibbs was in his first run. I always wanted a Redskins/Chiefs Super Bowl.
We'd watch the Falcons games because they were on, but we weren't "fans".

I'm a Falcons fan for life. I never venture outside of these Georgia borders. And about the game today....we're numb to this shite

Braves are pretty big in Georgia. Not as big as UGA, but much much bigger than the Falcons or the Hawks. Braves have had great attendance this year, obviously because they won the World Series last year, but in general their attendance and fan interest is pretty strong in this state.

Dawg fans aren't fans of teams that do forced dawg fights. I divorced my self from the falcons after that.

The Braves would like a word, baw.
They have fans all across rural Georgia.

Auther Smith coaches the game like he just trying to run out the clock from the 1st quarter till the 4th. He never seems interested in scoring, just excited to see how much time he took off the clock.
