That’s cute, she thinks they’re still the kang of college football. Bless your heart.

He tracks a ball in the air as good or better than any WR in the country (just my opinion).

I haven't watched him at Bama. So you may be correct about his last 2 seasons.

I graded him as + off the line of scrimmage and + attacking the ball in the air. He shows off his athleticism and skill with those quick bursts.

He was average hands.
Average strength.
Average speed.
Average height.

Basically, he is a #2 or #3 weapon in college.

I thought Burton would have been our #1 WR last year if he had stayed.

Burton was given every opportunity to be "the guy" in 2021. With Pickens and Kearis Jackson (UGA's #1 and #2 from 2020) hurt, he was given every shot.

He ended up getting surpassed by two 3-star freshmen... AD Mitchell and Ladd McConkey. And a true freshman TE (Bowers).

To me that cemented in my mind what he was... a #2/#3 WR. He simply couldn't be the guy to get lots of targets. He was the guy with 3-4 catches a game. A solid depth piece and a decent SEC WR. But not a #1.

Well - full disclosure - I like Jermaine Burton, but I think you have the IQ of a grape.

Yeah. Burton was the starter at the beginning of 2021 at the Y.

But the end of the season, he was platooning with freshman Ladd mcconkey.
Ladd was even outperforming him in the platoon.

It's huge. We don't have anyone else who knows anything about coaching DBs.

This isn't depth. YOu have 2 contributing WR (Burton and Bond), an okay TE and a 3rd WR who's VERY meh. Then you have nothing.

Our head coach is a former DC and before that DB coach. He also played DB.

Our DC is a former DB coach. He also played DB.

Maybe we can figure it out.

We had Sark on the staff when Lane Train went out and got drunk the night before the CFP game vs Wash. It cost us a Natty vs Clemson

I don't think it's unfair to say UGA, Bama, and jermaine all came out fine in the deal.

So nice to hear a voice of reason. You are spot on with that statement.

I haven't read the thread but thanks for AD Mitchell. I hope we can find another guy like that in the portal this year

Mitchell is twice the receiver that Burton was.

A true X.

We have 3 receivers doing that role this season.
Marcus Rosemy Jacksaint
RaRa Thomas
Dillon Bell

The good news (assuming RaRa is healthy) is that they have all improved a ton over the course of the year.
We may not be missing anything for the playoffs.
But AD Mitchell is a beast.

I'm glad he's with his family and doing well.

I'm sure you REALLY think these are better than Burton. Sure you do.
Wink.
