It is silly things like this that keep the Aggie fanbase going. Maybe you guys can win an online poll about helmets or "tradition" and you will be set to make it through next offseason.

Pretty awesome mascot. I did some research recently and apparently A&M named their mascot "Reveille" after the French verb "Reveiller" which means "to wake up".
Per A&M tradition, if a dog has its eyes closed you are supposed to yell "reveille!" three times. If the dog still doesn't open its eyes it can be assumed the dog is dead and therefore safe to jizz on.

According to the USA Today Fan Poll just a couple of weeks ago.
And according to the AP, too, in 2014.
SI's #2 in 2013.
And I'll take a 2nd from SDS to Mike. He's pretty badass.
And NBCSports' #5 mascot of ALL TIME, across ALL SPORTS!
Notice how absent Reveille is from all these rankings? Hmmm.....

In the 1957 Sugar Bowl, Smokey II got into a scrap with the Baylor bear.
And of course, Smokey also starred in one of the greatest comedies of all time
