This thread is hilarious. For eons, UGA fans have hated on Bobo (an OC that I've always felt was good but I was told by UGA fans repeatedly that he was horrible). Now they're defending Bobo while people that hated on Monken are now saying UGA will miss him.
Truthfully (no troll), I think UGA will miss Stetson more than anything, especially early on. He wasn't the best at everything but he always got the job done and that is what matters more than stats, measurables, or height, especially in the college game. I wasn't trolling UK when I said the Titans would've been better off picking Stetson over Levis.
I think UGA's offense will be good. Too much talent not to be but I think they'll miss Stetson early (too bad they changed when we play them til late in the season).

Uh no. We hated him his first couple of years, and then he grew into a great OC. Most UGA fans loved him in his last few years. You're misremembering, sir.

This is categorically false.

If there's a pattern with UGA fans, it's that you can't admit to anything.

Actually, Smart is the brains behind the best D in cfb for 2 straight years. THAT is the main reason we're on top and are going to remain on top for the foreseeable future.
Couple that along with the fact we return 4 starters to the OLine that finished second in the JM Award last season, and a ton of blue chip talent, including the best TE in the country, and do you honestly think we're going to decline? Beck is the least decorated of our 3 scholly QBs coming out of HS and he was a 4 star and ranked the #7 QB in the country. Plug him in with all that talent and the best D in the nation it can only mean one thing...

Or that amongst a fan base of millions, there might be differences in opinions.
Personally, I thought Bobo did fine as OC. I also think Monken showed a true genius at getting several guys open on any one play and a genius at dialing up the right play at the right time. It really helped that Stetson is a gunslinger at heart.
What makes UGA offense so difficult to stop is everyone is willing to block and takes pride in it and the offense is willing to throw to anyone in any situation. Defenses tend to gravitate toward the “playmakers” and UGA will burn a defense doing that.

I love that this is coming from a Tennessee fan.
Warms my heart.

Don't worry. You will have dozens of excuses to add to the schedule for why you lose.

No OC is perfect, but the stats we bring up speak for themselves.

As an outsider, please tell me more about the team I have followed for the last 50 years.
We hated him the first half of his tenure, but loved him his second half. He's a former UGA qb, a good ole boy, who led us to record-breaking offenses. But yes, the entire fanbase hated everything about him. Gtfoh

AU as well. Both were under lame duck head coaches too.
Now compare that to the current UGA machine.

I've already marked it down as a loss. I care about my team's trajectory and we'll get there but I don't think it will be this year.
That said, great distraction.

Is Kirby Smart the brans behind your offense like Heupel is? I don't think so.
And about Hooker, we all saw how Milton performed with all the pressure in the world on him in our biggest bowl game since the Fulmer years.
Last year Milton threw for 10 TDs with zero interceptions and nearly a 1,000 yards in his limited action. Much like Hooker, he does not throw interceptions.
He's the brains behind the defense that's held Heupel to a record low 13 points last year and 17 points the season before. Pretty sure we can manage to score 18 points on that defense.

Monken had a knack for knowing when to call plays in the heat of the moment. And that's what makes the difference between a good and great OC.
This. Monken reminded me of Jim McElwain in this regard. Always called the right play at the right time.

If Georgia ends up missing any contributor to the two championship seasons it will be Stetson Bennett. Stetson is a cold blooded killer QB.
