If Shaad Kahn has his way, the empty land along the river between downtown and the stadium will be turned into a massive development including practice fields, a hotel, restaurants, shops and commercial real estate.

It was only a matter of time before that space was used properly. What do you think? It's going to kill a bunch of parking spaces though.

Yes, that's a double decker practice field.

seems totally unnecessary and a complete waste of time and money..but I'll still go to jax every year regardless of what's around the stadium so if they want to be all futuristic and fancy then hey, go right ahead.

Well, I don't expect you to understand the necessity of it. It won't look all Jetson's IRL. It looks spaceship like in the mock up for sure.

It is much needed though.

why the bad vibes bruh?

What exactly is "much needed" about it? We're talking about one of the worst, if not the worst, franchises currently in the NFL with practically zero fan support and no real solid hope for the future. In addition it's a town that doesn't really have any appeal or draw to it outside of one fall weekend every year. So I'm not sure if dumping all that money is really "needed". But I know you live around there so can set me straight.

Lot's of Tampa Bay fans in Jax that never converted after they got their own team. It is kind of silly that they won't support the jags.

Well, it is one of the worst franchises. The zero fan support is ridiculous though. The fans want to see some excitement and it's not happened in a very long time. The last home playoff game in Jax was 1999. The fans will be there. The core group is still hanging tough.

If you can't see why such a development will be beneficial for the First Coast and the City of Jax, I'm not sure what to tell you. It's not just for the jags. The guy that owns Populous (did the concept) explained it very well. I'll see if there's a transcript of the interview somewhere.

Basically, it's our version of a Riverwalk like in SA, TX. The rejuvenation of Pittsburgh with all they did downtown.

It's much needed here as the development along the river has been neglected for a long time. It's going to be awesome. I just hope the new Mayor has the foresight to get it done.

My experience is quite the opposite. Those that are from here gave up their Dolphins and Bucs and became Jags fans. Those that are transplants from other parts of the country are the issue but that's true everywhere.

We get droves of opposing fans because of the weather in the fall and winter.

Yeah, they'll probably have a warning track.

Cheaper to hire senior citizens to bounce off of...

Long pass...
WR goes deep...
Too deep...
Thelma takes the force and plummets off the edge...
Jags employee heads over to WalMarks to recruit another greeter...

Talk about an apathetic/fickle fan base.

Do you like the new stadium?

Yeah I've never said otherwise, there's definitely a ton of empty seats.

Just making sure. They are spending a lot on the place and the drawings look nice.

The shade is much needed and I'd love to see the jags do that sometime.

I just hate the location.
