That recruiting, though...

UGA will be fine. Hopefully, we can make it competitive again.

UGA lost three players off of the offensive line after 2016. How did that affect the 2017 team? We got better.

Don't trigger my ptsd with Tom Renaldi stuff, man. It aint cool. I hate that guy. He's the worst part of CFB broadcasting.

I remember between 2007 and 2008 when UGA fans talked trash all year about how UGA was going to turn the rivalry around and how they were going to crush Florida in 2008.

Then Florida crushed Georgia 2 years in a row.

At this point, it is silly to pick Florida to beat Georgia, based on how this year went. But a lot can change in an off season. UGA fans should know that better than anyone.

Was there a team in the regular season besides AU that pressured the UGAs Offense to have to pass the ball ? They could protect Fromm with their running game and let him make safe passes. It wasn't only UGAs Offense that allowed it to happen, it was the lack of Offense from the rest of the SECE. Great situation to bring along a FR QB, but I think you will see some upgrade in the East this year on Offense.

A lot can change in the offseason. But Florida has not recruited to the level under McElwain to expect that quickly of a turnaround. These offseason transfers will be a great shot in the arm for the talent in Gainesville though.

I think people are underestimating how bad a coach McElwain is/was. He was awful. Mullen is going to raise the level of play at UF by a great amount, instantly.

I would say that they were probably pretty decent teams and that both scores might have been a bit fluky.

Florida's record shows they were not very good last season. They will be, but lackluster recruiting years have taken their toll on Florida's roster. Mullen seems to have them back on track in this class. If he has another class or two like this they will be very, very good.

The key to any team in the SEC is a decent QB.

And a decent line to block for him. What does Georgia have coming back on the offensive/defensive lines?

Only losing one player off of the offensive line and one player off of the defensive line. There is a good chance that we improve in the trenches.

I think you will see a Chizik-to-Gus transition that first year with Mullen. It was time for a change and players usually respond quickly with a change that they think is an upgrade.

I don't think there is a "hopefully" about this. Mullen is a good coach, and he is recruiting well. It is inevitable that Florida makes a big come back. It's more a matter of when, not if. Probably pretty soon.

That is huge! I think skill players can be developed during the season. But the continuity of the lines takes longer when replacing more than 1 or 2.

Not a chance UF is 2 years away, our lines of scrimmage are soft. We will be starting a freshman at QB that is fairly raw. This is the least talented Florida roster since maybe pre-Spurrier. That’s the truth, it is what it is.

Yeah. Our left guard started the last 10 games. The right guard started the last 5 games.
Working together for a full spring and fall should do wonders for the OL.

Like every team, the DL is a rotation. Only losing 1 on the 2 deep will strengthen a unit that will see a lot of turnover behind it (LB and DB).

Georgia will not have the best QB in the East next year. Missouri will.

We'll see. That term "quarterback whisperer" gets used too much these days, but Franks has exactly the kind of body and athleticism that Mullen seems to like in his qb's.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if you saw Ferguson like rushing number from Franks as a starter next year.

He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who could win a title, but it'll be his third year at UF, and like I said he has the body and wheels for a lot of what Mullen has asked of his qb's in the past.

Disagree. The roster Zook walked into was worse than this. It had Grossman, and really very little else. Spurrier's last two classes featured 4 good players...total. Absolute train wreck because he gave up recruiting. Zook walked into a night mare and many Gator fans completely ignore that with his hatred. He sucked on gameday, but he got the roster back to UF standards at least.
