He benefited from the Washington schools not being good and weaker competition in general. Now the Washington schools care again.

Why is the SEC scared? Did he learn how to field a defense yet?

He did fairly well with the Eagles. Better than a guy named Saban did in the NFL. So possibly. We shall see shalln't we.

Maybe his dislike for recruiting stemmed from having to do it at Oregon which is no easy task.

lol you get free shite from Nike at any big Nike school. Lol at these dumbass posts

recruiting trips to CA and Texas when you are at Oregon involves more travel and strain than recruiting your own state when you are at Florida.

You either become a rant Insider legend, or your posting career ends because of this thread.

Bold move, I like it.

It has been all over Gator message boards. He is hedging his bets with the Friday thing.

I wasn't talking clothes "dumbass."

Take a look at the money Phil Knight has put into that school and what kind of facilities the athletes at Oregon have to look forward to.

Solid hire for the athletes in Florida. You’ll definitely have a good offense. I expect the defense will drop off a bit however.

He was the head coach at Oregon from 2009-2012.

These are the recruiting rankings that fed his teams:

2006 - 50
2007 - 14
2008 - 34
2009 - 30
2010 - 12
2011 - 12

That’s an average of 25th and very weak on the lines because frankly, there isn’t a bunch of talent in the Northwest. He attracted some skill players from California, but that was hard to do with USC/UCLA/Cal/Stanford/etc. He won’t really have to leave the state to have an average recruiting ranking that high or higher every year.

If he gets Florida’s average level of talent, he’ll excel. Just needs to find a solid DC and some recruiters.

He also got some athletes out of Texas (e.g. Darron Thomas and LaMichael James the starting QB/RB of their Team that went to the NC)
