Everyone knows LSU is a baseball school (despite 0-7 against the Vols lately).

1940 and 1967 are bad, like really bad. I have no issue with UT claiming 1938 or 1950. They have legit arguments for both.

LSU is a consistently a baseball, football, track & field, softball, basketball, golf school. Things Tennessee will never become.

If we didn’t win a national championship for going undefeated. Then neither did LSU.

UCF has never played in a National Championship game. LSU has played in many, and won 4.

Has LSU ever won a NC where they didn’t play in New Orleans?

Hogs claim 64… but Bama truly has 64.

Sorry Bruce, AP/Coaches/BCS/CFP or it didn’t happen. Arkansas still with 0.

UGA claims 1942 because they were the consensus national champion being named NC by 2/3 of polls. They also won the Rose Bowl which was the defacto NC game. UGA also had the heisman trophy winner Sinkwich and Hall of famed Charlie Trippi. M on that team. That and the AP was 6 years old and far from the definitive authority.

I think they should claim 1946 because UGA was the only undefeated untied team in the country..

If Tech doesn’t flood grant field in 1927 UGA would been the only undefeated untied team on full schedule. Cheating arse Nats.

1941 says hello. 9-2, finished 3rd in SEC and claim national title

Oh yeah?

Tell me more about Tennessee's 1940 title where you finished 4th in the AP as well as Tennessee's 1938 title where you finished 2nd in the AP...

1965- 9-1-1 Record yet still claim National Title. Lost to UGA and tied with Tennessee

What does a record have to do with anything? This was an AP title. Saying AP titles are illegitimate is equivalent to calling BCS titles illegitimate.

By your "best record" logic, Alabama could claim more: in 1937, Alabama finished 8-0-1 while national champion, Minnesota finished 7-1; in 1945, Alabama finished 10-0 (with a Rose Bowl win) while National Champion, Army, finished 9-0, skipping out on the bowl season; In 1966, Alabama finished 11-0, while National Champion(s) Notre Dame and Michigan State (co-champs) both finished 9-0-1; In 1974, Alabama finished 11-1, while National Champion USC finished 10-1-1.

Then in 1977, Notre Dame and Alabama each finished the season 11-1. Yet Notre Dame was awarded the title. Only problem is, Notre Dame's lone loss came against Ole Miss, a team Alabama shellacked that year.

So feel free to use your own logic to defend the aforementioned seasons in which Bama had a "better record" than the national champs.

No, please go ahead... Because you'll get dunked on again and again...

A self proclaimed title does not mean you played in a College Football National Championship game.

Note: 2017 - Clemson beat Alabama 35-31 for the National Championship.
